Right Up My Alley! {SPDSS48}

Today we have a brand new sketch up over at SugarPea Designs! I decided to make a masculine card for my stash!

I used some fun papers from My Mind's Eye-this is some old paper that I thought was kind of bright and fun! And then I coloured my image with my Copic markers. I kept the design simple.

Come and join us! You are welcome to play along with all the sketches or just one but remember the more times you play along during the month, the better chance you have of winning a $75 gift certificate to our store!!!

Neat & Tangled {Masculine Thank You Card for Fall}

Today I am sharing a card I made with the new Neat & Tangled stamp set I purchased at Butterfly Reflections Ink. As soon as I saw the stamp, I knew I had to have it! I decided to make a masculine thank you card. I found this red, plaid paper in a stash!! I thought it worked well. I hope you do too! I used my copic markers to colour the leaves.

Verve Stamps {Diva Dare} & SRM Summer Challenge

Today I am sharing a project I made for the current Diva Dare over at Verve Stamps. I have seen the Diva Dare before but I do not think I have ever played along! The theme is masculine {A Man's World} and I made a gift set for my Father In-Law. I used the set called Strong Anchor. I will have to put it away until next year. He is an avid fisherman, so this nautical set was a must!

I am also playing along with the current SRM Challenge-The theme is Summer. I used some summery colours and a nautical theme! I also used some Twine from the Twinery and a SRM glassine bag. Love the larger bags...they are easy to fill up with goodies and to decorate! I also made a matching card to fit into the bag...easy peasy!

I think he will enjoy the bag when I fill it up with his favourite chocolate bars, candies and a gift card to Dairy Queen! Yes, he has a sweet tooth! Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you get the chance to craft soon!

Verve #3 & CAS-ual Fridays {Masculine Birthday}

Happy hump day! Today I am sharing a card I made on the weekend. I loved the Verve #3 Sketch and the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays to use Stitches on your card. I went with faux stitches.

I had not made a masculine card lately and we have some men birthdays coming up in the family, so I used the cute Verve sketch and got out my mustache die. I recently purchased some new Echo Park Paper-it is Fall themed and I used the chevron design for my card. The sentiment comes from the Verve set called "Joyful Blooms".

I went with Challenge #60-Boys will be Boys!!!

The challenge was to use the sketch and to create a masculine card. I flipped the sketch onto a portrait card layout.

I was inspired by the fun inspiration photo over at the Alley Way Stamps. I loved all the colours, the "boy" feel to the photo and the pirate at the bottom!! Heehee!!! The Alley Way group is pairing up with The 3 Girls Jam ribbon company, so I added some twine to my card too.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge {Reel Great!}

Two posts in one night! Wheee! I actually stayed at work until 6:45pm, purging my classroom of paper and stuff that I have been carrying around for at least 5 years! It felt so good, like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! As a reward for my clean classroom, I decided tonight I would stamp my heart out...and so here we are...Card #2.

I was intrigued by the unusual sketch at Paper Smooches! The sketch was so different for me and I didn't know where to start!! I have 2 Paper Smooches sets (so far) and the one I picked up this Christmas in San Diego is a masculine set called MY GUY that has proven to be VERY useful!

I used some My Mind's Eye Designer Paper called Portobello Road (I love this 6x6 pack!). I embossed the gray paper with my woodgrain embossing folder that I have had for a million years, I think it was one of my original purchases when I began stamping! The red pattern paper is an old piece of SU! scrap and the fish is cut out of the silver paper and paper pieced...and popped up on a dimensional. My father in-law is a great fisherman and I know he will love this card for Father's Day! I am really happy with how this turned out...I would love to know what you think!!

I am also playing along with the Brown Sugar Challenge Blog-Red, White, Gray
CASology-RED-I used red as my accent to make the sentiment stand out and to accent my design
CAS-ual Fridays-Black and White plus 1-I used red as my accent (I do have gray as a neutral...not sure if that is ok?

Clean and Simple Man Card for the Paper Players

When trying to decide on a theme for this week's Clean and Simple challenge, Anne Marie suggested "man" cards. I loved the idea of creating a CAS card for a man!!!  I also decided to use the fabulous sketch over at A La Card Monkey for my layout! I just loved it!!  They are looking for moments and this sketch! So I chose an important moment in all of our lives...birthdays!

Mojo Monday {Ahoy Matey}

Wow, Thursday already! I wanted to play with some new goodies and so I inked up my new Inspired by Stamping set called "Ahoy Matey". I was so excited to get this set as I am always looking for masculine sets!  The DSP is from a Christmas stash and I let the colours in it guide me to create this card.  I used the fun Mojo Monday sketch for my card.

The card base is Basic Gray cardstock and the other colours are Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla. It is my hubby's birthday today and he is 40, so I needed a special card for him!  We live near the ocean and so this set was a must for me.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you enjoy your week!

Scrapbook Essentials BC-Challenge #2 {Wet or Dry Embossing}

This week at Scrapbook Essentials BC, we are challenging you to use Wet or Dry embossing on your project!  I choose to use the Seaside Lighthouse Set, which is one of my favourite sets from Essential Stamps!  I love the way this set stamps, and I coloured it with my Copics.

I hope you can see the Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder I used on the background piece of my card, I thought it looked like swirling air...what do you think?  I also finished it off with a button, to add a little interest.  My designer paper is from Kaiser Craft, the "Vintage Timeless" collection.

Seaside Lighthouse
We hope you will get the chance to join our challenge this week which will go live at midnight.  Get out your embossing machine, be it heat gun or cuttlebug, and get bossy!!!

Remember, participants do not have to use Essential Stamps to join us.  Just play along with what you have!  If you do use our stamp sets, your name will be entered into a draw at the end of the month for a FREE Essential Stamps Set.  How cool!!!

Friday Mashup #25- "Sketch it Square and Manly"

This week at the Friday Mashup, Kasey has an awesome challenge all lined up for you!  It is a terrific sketch with a manly twist!

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using the "Square Sketch above ".
  2. Or Make a Project that has a "Masculine" theme.
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Square Project using the Sketch, with a Masculine theme".
I decided to ink up an old Christmas Favourite, inspired by my friend Tasha...she loves the Holiday Lineup stamp set and this is what I created....

I love colouring and so I spent some quality time on my card, colouring each piece of clothing! I also used the new "Dazzling Details" glitter glue from the Holiday Mini...I added little pieces of glitter to the pompoms on the elves hats!  So much fun!!!  I also added some of the new "mini bells" to my snowflakes, and the card now jingles....hehehe...love it!!!

The Paper Players #54-Christmas in July

This week at the Paper Players, Jaydee is challenging us to go "Christmas"!  So I was looking through my stash of Christmas stamps, trying to decide what to use when I came across this "Best Dad Ever" set.  Then I thought of all the tacky ties that show up at Christmas time and I went to work!

I inked up the tie stamp with my Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive markers.  I should have used Poppy Parade to make the ties really gaudy!  And some glitter on the ties would have been fun! LOL!  This could be used as a card for a man at Christmas...might be kinda cute!
