All week I have been looking at the awesome colour challenge over at Inkspirations.  It seemed like a Halloween combo to me but for some reason, I do not own any Halloween stamps except for sentiments!  So I went back to the drawing board!

My friend Jaydee is a Clean and Simple designer, I just love her cards and I have been trying the "Less is More" approach too.  So today I created a CAS using the Inkspirations Colour Combo!!!

I finished the inside too...I love this new "Petite Pairs" stamp set!  That is where the sentiment on the front of the card and the sentiment on the inside come from, they actually match eachother and fit in the large Oval Punches!!!  Yippee!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Paper Players Challenge #50-Kind Thanks

Lobster!  Yum!  Last night I was fortunate to be invited to Lobster Fest and I had a great time! There was fresh lobster, yummy summer salads and a rockin' band!  Corey and I danced, I boogied with my father-in-law Glen and tore up the floor with one of Corey's workmates!  It was really a good night!!!  The dancing helped burn off those garlic butter calories!!!

Today I have a card I would like to share that I created for the Paper Players Challenge, hosted by the lovely LeAnne.  She is challenging us to make a thank you card or project.  I decided to go Vintage with my card and used the "Elements of Style" stamp set that is one of my favourite SU! sets!!!  We are also welcoming three new Guest Designers to our team: Cindy Beach, Lauri Ingram and Sandra Appozardi. Welcome ladies!!

I used my trusty crimper to make a waffle effect on my cardstock after I stamped the floral image in Stazon and coloured my flowers with a Bashful Blue and a Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker.  The ribbon is the Marina Mist Satin ribbon, which is being retired. I also used a Kiwi Kiss button to pick up the green leaves I coloured in the image.

My butterfly is from the "Strength and Hope" set. I stamped it in Night of Navy Ink on Bashful Blue cardstock then cut it out with my snips.  I used the sentiment from the "Bold Blossom" set and my new 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  The scallop edge punch was used to create the pretty edge on the Night of Navy Paper and I wheeled the Music Notes small wheel onto the Marina Mist card base.

We hope that you will join the Paper Players Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

Picture Perfect Creations #59- For A Friend

Good morning and happy Victoria Day!  This weekend is a long weekend and I have put it to good use, painting my Guest Room and getting some major deep house cleaning done!  I have purged some clothing and old sheets, tossed out lots of old condiments from the fridge and even cleaned my oven!  Yes, I was motivated!

But you didn't stop by to read about my crazy weekend of cleaning!  I hope you came by to see what the newest colour challenge is over at Picture Perfect Creations this week!!!  Here it is!

I love the colours Marina Mist, Old Olive and Early Espresso.  I inked up the wonderful set called "Strength and Hope" which has such a gorgeous butterfly in it!! I love how it stamps!!!  I used my crimper AGAIN and added some little details like the satin ribbon and the few sprays of green leaves on the side.

No Stampin' Up did not get a new die for the Big Shot, that circle die is a Nestie and was a Christmas Gift from my wonderful Mother-in-Law.  This is the first time I have used it and I love how it looks on this card!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  I sure hope you get the chance to join us this week at Picture Perfect Creations!!!

Exciting News!

This week I have been bursting with some exciting news!  I am going to be designing for the Friday Mashup Challenge blog for the next 6 months.  Yippee!!!  Starting next Friday, I will be on the Design Team and I am looking forward to working with the talented gals over there!

I hope you will play along with us at the Friday Mashup!  This week's theme is Butterflies with Dimension...head on over and have a look!!!  And play along!  The Friday Mashup has been one of my favourite challenge blogs!  The blog has had a facelift and looks terrific!!!!  It is all so very exciting!

I created a clean and simple card for this challenge!  My butterfly is stamped twice and I cut one of them out and popped it up on dimensionals.  The stamp set is called "Strength and Hope" and will be available in May!  I used Regal Rose and Black as my main colours.  My designer paper is from the "Sweet Stitches" pack.

Thanks for stopping by!  Get on over to the Friday Mashup Challenge blog and play along with us this week!!!

A la Card Monkey and Stampin' Up Only

Hello!  It is me again!  Yes I am posting for a third time today and no my laundry is not getting done!  But my husband actually asked me to make a card today.  I gasped in amazement and then caught myself, "Sure honey...no problem", I responded nonchalantly as I raced down to my craft room to get started!!!  Yippee!!  The birthday card is for one of Corey's co-workers.  She is turning 29 again (50!!) and they wanted a special, pretty card for her.

I was unsure of where to start!  I am someone who loves to create "efficiently" so I went looking through my list of challenge sites and saw some wonderful inspiration for my card!  The Colour Q has some pretty colours this week.  I had already made a card with these colours this week and I loved them so much I made another!!!  Then I noticed that the Stampin' Up Only Challenge was having a Birthday Card Challenge and there is a brand new challenge blog out there!!!  It is called "A la Card Monkey".  Their challenge this week is "Nature" and so I tailored my card to be "All About Nature".  You should get over and try out these challenges this week!

So here is my card...what do you think?  Okay...I am off to do laundry now!!!

Thank you for stopping by!
All supplies are Stampin' Up:
Stamps: Strength and Hope, Elements of Style and En Francais
Inks: Celery, Espresso, Pink Pirouette and Crumb Cake
Paper: Same as above
Tools: Scissors, clear block D, Ribbon Border Punch, Decorative Label Punch, sponges

Stamping 411 and Pals Paper Arts

The Stamping 411 team and the Pals Paper Arts team both have a terrific challenge happening this week!  First I looked at the 411 sketch and thought, wow!  I need to try this.  So I went to work, sketching it out and trying to create a card to fit the cool design.  I inked up my new Four Frames stamp set again and also used some of my new Designer Paper called Paisley Petals.  I actually took my colour combo from the new designer paper.

The colours I chose are Cajun Craze, Marina Mist and Pear Pizzazz.  Not a usual colour choice for me but one that I am really happy with! This sketch really pushed me out of my comfort zone and I am not sure if I am sold on what I created, but that is probably because it is something different that my usual style.

Over at Pals Paper Arts, they are challenging us to use Punches!  Punches are my favourite tools, and I used a few on this card.

I used:
The Decorative Label Punch
The Itty Bitty Punch Pack
The Bird Punch
The Scallop Edge Border Punch

Thank you for stopping by!  I appreciate your comments so much!  I hope you enjoyed my creation and get the chance to get crafty yourself today!!!

What a Hoot!!!

Tonight when I got home from work, I suited up Rolley the Rocket Dog and out we went for a walk.  It was a beautiful late afternoon, fresh and cool because of the rain we had all day.  While we were walking, I was thinking about the challenges I had seen on the blog today and what I would do with those challenges.  Well wasn't I shocked when VERY close to my head, an Owl hooted!  I was going through the forest by our home and completely lost in thought, when an Owl in the tree above me hooted...really loudly!! I have to admit I jumped a little!  Another Owl answered the call and I was amazed to be caught in the middle of this beautiful serenade.  Even Rolley the Rocket Dog seemed awestruck by the sound and the vision of the Owl in the tree above us...looking down at us!!  It was very cool...all my students know, I love Owls and think they are amazing creatures!!!

Sorry...I just had to share!  I sure wish I had my camera!!

Tonight I played with the Colour Challenge over at Inkspirations.  I have been trying to play along with them for a while and tonight I was inspired not only by the Colours but by some new rubber that arrived!! I inked up a set that won't be available until May called Strength & Hope.  It is a set that is for Breast Cancer Awareness and partial proceeds go toward cancer research.

So here is my card:

It is pretty plain and simple, not really what I envisioned but adding more to it make the card seem too heavy?  I stamped the butterfly in More Mustard and did the Rock and Roll technique, where I rolled it in Poppy Parade Ink.  The Cajun Craze base is embossed with the Tulip Embossing Folder and then using a sponge dauber, I inked up the raised edges in Cajun Craze.
