Stamping 411 and Colour Dare

Wow!!  I was amazed to see that I reached 100 readers today! What a wonderful thing, to see that 100 today! I did a happy dance!  Thank you to everyone who comes to visit my blog.  I never knew about the reader program until a gal emailed me and asked if I had it hooked up to my blog!!  So thank you for challenging me to learn new stuff like that and for stopping by in your busy day to visit me!

As you know, one of my most favourite challenges is Stamping 411.  I love their sketches and this week they have a great one!  I changed one element of the sketch! Instead of the Modern Label Punch at the bottom left hand corner of the card, I used the Little Leaves die and made that my accent.  I also used the colours from the current Colour Dare.  I'll admit, it was tough but I am happy with how they turned out!!  Tempting Turquoise, Pear Pizzazz and Tangerine Tango.

I used the leaves as the main focal point of my card and added some little flowers with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack!  The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases once again and I made my own tag!!!  Do you know how I did that?  I got this terrific idea from Brenda over at her blog QBee's Quest.  Click HERE to see her post!!  Such a clever idea!!!  She is calling it her 'Decorative Label Punch Mini Label".

I added some pearls to each little flower I punched out and I used some retired paper from the Sweet Pea DSP pack from last year.  I used the "de"-bossed side of the finial press embossed paper...I like how it looks!  I thought this would be a different kind of Valentine's card!!  We do Christmas cards in non-traditional colours, why not a Valentine Card?

Thanks for stopping by!!

20 minutes or less Scrapbook Challenge

I played along with Carole'Anne and Sandi today with their 20 minute Scrapbook Sketch Challenge. I wanted to create my own DSP so I used the Fifth Avenue Florals set to stamp the background in Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip. I used some DSP from the Sweet Pea Pack in the Mini Occasions Catalogue and some pink satin ribbon. The journaling I did was more of a title "My Dear Kind and Wonderful Friend" from the stamp set called "All Holidays".This page was meant to be simple. I thought this could be a cute page for a Spring Friendship theme. I did this as a 81/2 x 11" page and it took me awhile to design but less than 20 minutes to put together! Does that count?!! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

I was so inspired by the design team samples over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Blog that I had to play! I decided to keep my card simple using the Fifth Avenue Florals set and the DSP from the Good Neighbours and Sweet Pea Packs. I actually used all scraps on this card. I cut out the circle with my Circle Scissors Plus and then used the Circle Scallops #2 Die in my Big Shot. I also completed the inside of the card using my Curvy Verse set. I used Melon Mambo and Old Olive as my colours. I smudged the top righthand side of the inside of the card with my thumb! Don't you hate that when that happens!!!

Colour Throwdown #81 and a Question

Here I go! A post during the week! I am trying to keep up with challenges but this week at work has been busy and I must admit, I am pooped! Here is my submission for the current Colour Throwdown to use Pink, Chocolate and Olive. I inked up my Baroque Motifs set, I haven't used that set since Christmas!! It is inked in Olive and the little flowers are in Rose Red. The Paper Flower is created with the new Sweet Pea Designer Paper. It is so pretty! I used some Rose Red ribbon for the bottom of the card to tie it all together. Of course I used the corner trim punch, I love it! Now for my question, what is your favourite SU! stamp set and why do you like it?

Thanks!
Lesley ;)

Back to Blogging

The past couple of weeks have been hectic with work, life and everything in between! One of the gals in my club, emailed me wondering if I was alright!!! She hadn't seen any fresh eye candy on the blog for a while! It was so sweet of her to email and to check up on me!! Thanks Trudy!

So I wanted to share my Stamper's 6 Club Project from last night. We had fun, using Mr. Big aka 'The Big Shot" and the Daisies#2 Die. I wanted to create a project to teach my club how to make an Easel Card. We also made a cute little treat holder called the "Diaper Fold Pouch". We filled up the little baggies in the pouch with some mini eggs. Yum!The inside of the card was stamped with the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the "Well Scripted" Set. I used the "For You" stamp from the Vintage Labels. I used the Scallop Trim Punch (FREE in the Sale-A-Bration Cattie) and some of that pretty "Sweet Pea" Designer Paper!
Thanks for stopping by! If you have any questions please email me!

Stampin' 411 Sketch...Clean and Simple

I wanted to make a Clean and Simple Card and was playing with the new "Whimsical Words" set from the Sale-A-Bration" and the lovely, "Thoughts and Prayers" Set. I coloured the flowers in both Pretty in Pink and Rose Red with my Markers and the vine was coloured with my Old Olive Marker. The Designer Paper is from the new Sweet Pea Paper Pack in the Mini Catalogue. One again I used my Lots of Tags Die and the Big Shot, along with my Wide Oval Punch for the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you check out the Stampin' 411 Sketch this week, it is perfect for a Clean and Simple (CAS) Card!

MTSC57-New SU! Items

My shipment of new SU! stuff came in today and after I put everything all together, stamps, took wrapping off packages, and so on...I NEEDED to stamp. LOL! The Sale-A-Bration Set called "Happy Moments" was calling my name...actually as soon as I saw this set, I knew I wanted it. I love the pretty flowers and really the entire set is so sweet! I also love the "Whimsical Words" set and inked it up today too!My sketch came from Mercy Kerin's Sketch Challenge. I inked up those sweet little flowers from the "Happy Moments" set and coloured them with my ink pads and Blender Pens. I love the look of this kind of colouring and am still learning how to make it look watercoloured. I used Regal Rose, Old Olive and Going Gray (to outline the images). The sentiment is from "Whimsical Words" and I punched it out with the Wide Oval Punch (112082) and nested it in the Lots of Tags die (114508) which I used on my Big Shot. The DSP is from the newest paper pad (117161) in the Occasions Mini and the ribbon is Pretty in Pink in 1/4" grosgrain (109032). Have you seen the Sweet Pea Paper Pack (117161) in the mini? Wow! It is stunning and I am so excited to do some scrapbooking with it. There are 48 Sheets of paper in this pack! There are 24 designs in this pack! I embossed the white base of the card with the Perfect Details Texture Plate (115962) and my Big Shot. I almost forgot! I used the new Scallop Trim Edging Punch on this card! You can get this Punch for FREE with a $65 SU! purchase. It is in the Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalogue! It was easy to use!
