Paper Players #95 {Happy Birthday}

Happy Mother's Day! What a crazy week and a quick one too! The days are getting longer with daylight but somehow shorter on time? Am I crazy or does anyone else feel this way? Anyway, onto my post! Ann is our hostess for the Paper Players Challenge this week and it is a Colour Challenge and I am in LOVE with the fresh, bright colours! YUM! They match my blog!!!

I needed to ink up my Creative Elements stamp set which has not seen any ink for SUCH a long time. I love that floral image from it and the vines...oh so pretty! I stamped the butterfly in So Saffron (I actually do not own Daffodil Delight yet-GASP!) and fussy cut it! Then popped it up on a glue dot. Again I added the ribbon in the form of pennants at the bottom and used my favourite new sentiment stamp Perfectly Penned.

We hope that you will join the Paper Players Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

Paper Players Challenge #70 {Anything Goes Fall} and BLOG CANDY!!!

This week at the Paper Players we have an "Fall Themed Anything Goes Challenge" for you!.  I have BLOG CANDY at the end of this post!!! Be sure to enter for it!

I decided to showcase the set called "Creative Elements". This one is a pretty set with a flower that looks like a mum to me. I decided to create a Fall coloured card, with a vibrant Cherry Cobbler Mum as the main focal point.

Here is a closeup of my card! Notice that I stamped my Textured Crumb Cake Paper with the En Francais background stamp and then stamped the swirl from "Creative Elements" in Soft Suede right over top. Then I coloured in the swirl with my Crumb Cake Marker.  Everything is sponged with Crumb Cake or Soft Suede ink.

I used my Scallops #2 die for the centre of the card and used my mat pack and paper piecer to make holes in the scallops.  The butterfly is stamped in Early Espresso Ink onto Very Vanilla Paper, then I fussy cut it out and hightlighted it with some pearls.  Yes that piece in behind the scallop circle is crimped! Oh how I love my Crimper!

Blog Candy Alert:  Would you like a copy of my Nature Walk Tutorial?  Here is a picture of the cards you will make with my step by step instructions.  Normally I sell this tutorial for $10 but I will draw 3 names next week to win this tutorial for free!

  2. Create a project using the sketch
  3. or Mash it Up and create a project using the colours and the sketch
I inked up some more new goodies and created this special card for my mom.  I sure hope she likes it!

I have decided to take a two week blogging break.  I am shutting down my computer and focusing on books and gardening.  I really need a break from my computer, I am tired.  I will be back on August 1st.  See you all soon!!!!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #77-Creative Elements

The courier came today with a brand new stamp set for me! Yippee!  Who doesn't love new rubbah?!  I actually just placed my first order with the new Stampin' Up catalogue and am expecting it this week.  This stamp set called "Creative Elements" is one I earned as a demonstrator and I am so happy I chose it out of the book! I can see many possibilities for it!!

I have been so busy with the end of the school year and moving my classroom that I have not had the chance to be creative, other than commitments. So it was nice to choose a fun challenge and play along! I decided to try my hand at the Inkspirations Challenge Blog, such wonderful DT samples, I loved the sketch and thought it would work well with my new stamp set!

I decided to use Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip as my colours, a nice classic combo to break in my new set!  I also used the En Francais stamp which is another favourite of mine.

Thanks for stopping by!!!
