Freshly Made Sketches #13-{Let it Snow}

Hello dear stamping friends! Hope all of my American stamping friends had a restful Thanksgiving. I was thinking of you all, enjoying your holiday break. I always love to watch the Macy's Day Parade, I think it is because of Miracle on 34th Street (the original movie). I love that movie. I would love to see the parade live one day, that would be wonderful.

Last week we had a family emergency (I won't go into details) and I have been unable to comment on cards or to keep up with blogging in general. Things are better now and I am starting to get back to blogging and card making.  Thank you for all of the wonderful comments you have been leaving for me on my cards, they truly lifted my spirits last week and I needed that!!!  Thank you to my wonderful design teams who kept everything running smoothly, I am so thankful to have you as friends and challenge mates!

Now onto the Freshly Made Challenge this week. I am the hostess and designed a sketch with three objects in it that can be any shape...the same shape three times or different shapes.  I chose to use some snowflakes and my new "dienamics" die from My Favourite Things.  I also loved the colour challenge at the Colour Q and used it for inspiration this week.

The Paper Players #74 {A Very Merry Christmas}

Happy Sunday everyone! This week I am the hostess for the Paper Players Challenge and I have a sketch for you to try that I hope you will find easy and useful for your Christmas card making!  My sketch shows an oval that can be any shape, I hope you will make the sketch your own.  My snowman below has been in my stash of coloured pictures for a while now, I have been trying to use up those pieces that did not make it on another card but that I kept for easy use.

I had coloured the image with my Copics and added three red pearl brads to create his buttons.  The designer paper comes from a 6 x6 Echo Park paper pad called "Season's Greetings". I am almost through this pack, it is such a bright and happy paper pack!

Freshly Made Sketches #12- {Joy to the World}

This week at Freshly Made Sketches, Jen Mitchell has a great sketch for us! I loved the simplicity of the sketch and took some artisitic license with the bottom portion of the sketch. Using some sparkly ribbon from my stash, I tied a simple bow. The star stamp is inked up in Mellow Moss (oh Mellow Moss, how I miss you) and the sentiment is inked up with Cherry Cobbler.  A simple base of "Confetti White" cardstock makes this card easy to mail and easier to create! The Crumb Cake square on the card measures 3"x 3" and the white square is 2.75" x 2.75".  The Cherry Cobbler background is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder.

I sincerely hope you enjoy my simple card and that you will join Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

Paper Players #73-{Snowflake Glimmer}

Edit to note: Oh no, my post did not publish automatically this morning and I had not been on my computer all day to see that!  Sheesh! Sorry about that! It has been a busy day!

Good morning, it is Sunday and that means another challenge with the Paper Players. This week Jaydee is our hostess and she is challenging us to go clean and simple with the colours Navy, White and Silver. We have been enjoying some snow here and so I decided to punch out the snowflake from the white cardstock and then I added some Silver Glimmer paper behind it.  The ribbon is the navy taffeta and the sentiment is from Beautiful Season.  I also embossed the back panel with the Stripes embossing folder. This card is REALLY clean and simple.

Freshly Made Sketch #11-Just for You

Happy Wednesday stamping friends!  This week is lovely Linda's sketch and I love it SO much! I decided to flip the sketch on its side.  I was playing with some new pattern paper from "My Mind's Eye" called Lost and Found Blush. Here is the sketch below.

The flower was created using the Prima Donna Petals Die from My Favourite Things. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.  I inked up the flower with some Regal Rose ink.  The side panel is a punch I just picked up but cannot remember the name of! Sorry!  We hope that you will join Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

The Paper Players Challenge #72 {Yuletide Blessings}

Another Sunday is here already! Christmas is coming fast and I spent the weekend making some Christmas cards for my stash! I actually made 40 clean and simple cards, that I hope to share with you this week. For now, I am excited to share with you LeAnne's amazing Colour Combo for this week's Paper Players challenge!

This week I inked up this adorable stamp set called "Christmas Cheer" from my new blogging friend Joanna Munster of Inspired by Stamping.  She designed this stamp set and I was fortunate enough to receive one from her this week!  Isn't that lovely?  I am on her new design team and I am so excited to be working with her! I embossed the tree with Always Artichoke Ink and my versamark pad/clear embossing powder.  Both the River Rock Panel and the Riding Hood Red panels are embossed, and who can resist that awesome striped grosgrain ribbon, I love the stuff!

I loved this colour combo from LeAnne so much I had to make another card with it!  Tree is stamped with Always Artichoke and then I stamped over it again with River Rock ink. I just love how those inks go together!  I embossed the background with the "Victoria" cuttlebug embossing folder. Lots of red here but I think it packs a punch!

Cardabilities Sketch #42 and "The Colour Throwdown" #167 {Sweet Winter Wishes}

The weekend is here and I am so excited to have a day to stamp! All week, I have been meaning to get to the Colour Throwdown and Cardabilities challenges!  Both were really fun this week and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I love that!  I used my new My Favourite Things stamps to create this card!  I was also excited to use some scraps of DSP that I had been hoarding saving for a layout just like this!!!

My image is coloured with Copics and I pulled out some Circle Nestabilities to create the frame around the main image. The background is Pretty in Pink, embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  I also decided to add some bling to the image and punched out two snowflakes from glimmer paper. I love that stuff!  The inside is also finished off with DSP and a sentiment.

The Friday Mashup, Scrapbooker's Paradise Guest Designer, CR84FN42 & Sweet and Sassy Digi Challenge

Happy Friday everyone!  It is time for the Friday Mashup!  This week Kasey is our hostess and she has challenged us to go girly and to add our favourite technique!  I had this post ready to go all week but for some reason the formatting was just not working!!!  So I have deleted it all and am trying again!  I created this card for the following challenges:

The Friday Mashup-Go Girly and your Favourite technique (Dry Embossing)

I was pretty excited to win the Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge a couple of weeks ago and so I have the chance to be a Guest Designer over there this week! Thank you ladies for the wonderful opportunity!!  I also wanted to play along with CR84FN and the Sassy Digi Challenges, so I combined all the challenges to make my snowgal card!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you get the chance to play along with all these wonderful challenge blogs!!!

The Colour Q #110 and Card Patterns Sketch 140

Well Thursday is here and I have a card to share with you today! I really loved the colours at the Colour Q and I have wanted to play along with the Card Patterns Sketch for a while now, so I saw the chance and went for it!  I had to use non-SU colours to play along, but I tried to match them as best as I could. I also added black as a neutral, to highlight the warm, rich colours.

Once again I inked up the Agapanthus stamp from Stampendous. I coloured it with Copics. The script background comes from Hero Arts and the sentiment is from Amuse.

Freshly Made Sketches {Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year}

This week at Freshly Made Sketches, we have a great sketch from the lovely Rita Wright!  I was so excited to cut into some new pattern paper I picked up at my local crafting store!  It is from Jillibean Soup, I believe that is what it is called!  Both the red side of the paper and the yellow side come from the same sheet of paper.  I thought the paper had a primitive country feel to it and decided to make a poinsettia in Kraft paper from my Poinsettia nestabilities.
I also added a black matte around the entire main panel and the smaller panel to accent the red and yellow colours.  The sentiment comes from a stamp set that I got last year from Stampin' Up but is now retired called "Seasonal Sentiments". The ribbon is black satin and the twine is called True Hemp made by Hemptique.  It has a really pretty chocolate sheen to it. I couldn't resist adding a button too!

Clean and Simple Challenge CAS143 at Splitcoast Stampers

The Clean and Simple Team at Splitcoast Stampers has a great sketch challenge for today. I decided to use my Stampendous Agapanthus Stamp (one of my favs) and inked it up in Memento Ink, colouring it with Copics.

The card base is Naturals Ivory and then the White Cardstock is matted with black cardstock. The script is from Hero Arts and is stamped in Going Gray (stamping off three times)  Can you see the twine on the side with the little bow?

Off to bed!  Have a great week!

Paper Players #71-Anne Marie's Recipe Challenge

Slow down weekend!  Sunday is here already and I would love one more day to rest! The weeks are counting down to Christmas much too quickly and my list is way too long this year! So much to do and so very little time!  So with all that said, today at the Paper Players, "Chef AM" has a recipe challenge ready for us!  And boy, did her recipe cook up a fun Christmas card for me to make!  Thanks AM...I have one less Christmas card on my list to make!

  1. I decided to ink up this adorable digital stamp made by Arielle Gordon of Wax Fruit Company, I loved the image as soon as I saw it and knew I had to have it because I love to colour!!!
  2. The image just screamed fun bright colours to me and so I paired the image with some scraps of designer papers I had in my stash...a piece of Real Red, Pool Party and Old Olive striped papers. I layered them over each other and matted the "panel" I created with them out of black cardstock.
  3. Do you see the glitter on those pretty ornaments?  Check!  So far I have 3 pattern papers, and a sprinkling of glitter.  I needed to add two different ribbons and a punch!
  4. I remembered this Tags Christmas stamp set from SU that was out a few years ago and stamped the sentiment on Poppy Parade paper and then punched it out with my Wide Oval Punch.  Punch Check!
  5. The ribbbon is some Doodlebug Doodle Twine that I have in my stash. I went with the blue and red colours.  Two different ribbons...check!
  6. The ornaments are coloured with Copics.

We hope that you will join the Paper Players Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creation and to give a warm welcome to Susan Joyce, our November Guest Designer at the Paper Players.
