Viva la Verve & Virginia's View {Happy}

I am enjoying working with distress inks SO much. Where have I been? I think they are my new favourite ink and mixed with some glossy paper...well, let's just say I am in inky heaven! This is a photo I took of two cards I made on Friday-this is an Instagram photo!

My local craft store brought in Sweet Stamp Shop stamps. I was on the Sweet Design Team this past summer and in January, had the pleasure of meeting both Mr. & Mrs. Sweet! I was delighted to find out that these "sweet" stamps would be available close to home!

I was inspired by the colours at Viva la Verve...Pink, Gray and Green. That is what I used on my first card! The card base is a bright pink-Melon Mambo. I hope it is ok to use a different pink hue. I used a Tim Holtz stencil and added the 3 colours. Then I die cut a leaf and stamped the sentiment. I wanted to try the "skewed" panel sketch that I have been seeing around. I am usually a clean and layered kind of crafter but I am trying to move out of my comfort zone-so I can grow as a crafter.

Then I played with the images again and used the leaf's negative die cut space left from my first card and inked it up with blue and green. I allowed the colours to touch, to create a blended look. I am entering both cards in Virginia's View Challenge-to use stencils. On this particular card I created my own stencil from the die cut.

Sweet Stamp Shop Designer and first Design Team Reveal!!!

If you are looking for the Whimsy and Stars Blog Hop...please CLICK HERE.

Such exciting news to share!! I am on the Sweet Stamp Shop design team and this week we have a brand new stamp release to share with you!!! Sweet Stamp Shop owner, Nicole Rixon, has created 3 new stamp sets for June and YOU WILL LOVE THEM!!

Before I share my projects, I wanted to let you know that:
Today and tomorrow ONLY enjoy 20% off the new releases - use coupon code NR20.

There are three sets to be released today, and I am featuring TWO of them called Wheely Like You and Spin

My first card features the Spin stamp set! I just adored the fun sentiments and decided to create a card which featured some of them. The fan was stamped in the side of the panel, and coloured with Copics. Wouldn't this be a SWEET congratulations card!

I am entering this card into the following challenge:
Created With Love - W, 3E, C10 - Your Favorite Things (Washi Tape, Pearls, Fun Papers)

My second card for the day, I featured the fun Wheely Like You set!! There are so many neat elements to this set and I knew right away, I wanted to create a card with some whimsy...hence my pattern paper choice!! I was also inspired to create something summery. I added some peach coloured baker's twine and I used some black grosgrain for the "flags". Adding twine is a fun way to add a little "fun" to your card! My sketch came from the Clean and Simple Challenge blog.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Artistic Inspirations - W, E3 - Ribbon or Twine

The design team:

The amazing design team has created such vast and inspiring projects to share with all of you!!! It is wonderful to see all the different styles represented!  Be sure to visit our Sweet Stamp Shop blog to see all of the awesome RELEASE DAY samples, shared by the team!!!

And don't forget!

Sweet Stamp Shop & Color Throwdown {Congrats Smartie Pants}

There is a new challenge in blogland at the Sweet Stamp Shop called the "Use What You've Got Challenge" and it is a fun one! Basically, you need to go through your stash and find some old goodies to play with! My stash doth "overflowith" with unused delights and so I went to work!

First I looked at the colour challenge over at the Color Throwdown. The colours are in my Stampin' Up ink stash-Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi and Daffodil Delight-mixed with black and white! So CHECK off the "hoarded supplies" stash list! Using "INK" from my stash.

Then I went through my 12 x 12 papers and found a piece of Wild Wasabi designer paper. I have no idea what paper pack it was from but it is not new, so I cut it up and created a mat for my stamped images. I am happy with how it turned out, and added a wee bit of Black and White Baker's Twine (need to order more soon) to the bottom of the card.

{Supplies Used}
Inks: Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, (Summer Starfruit)  subbed in for Daffodil Delight
Papers: SU! DSP
Extras: Rhinestones, Baker's Twine

So Very THRILLED!!!

Good morning!!! Today I am honored to share my Guest Design projects I created for the Sweet Stamp Shop. Nicole Rixon invited me to design for her this month and I was absolutely thrilled with the images she sent for me to use! Thank you Nicole!

My first project features the super versatile set called "Baby Love". This set has so many possibilities, not just to create Baby Cards! That "love" sentiment jumped out at me right away and I had the idea to used it as a rainbow...at the end of the rainbow is that sweet bundle! I went with red and yellow to create a happy feel to my project!! Below you will see I also created a matching Pillow Box to go with my card. It will hold a small gift card for the mom to be.

My next project is a super cute stamp set called "Old Fashioned Afternoon". I paired it up with that Love sentiment from "Baby Love".

This card was simple to make! First I created a Polaroid photo look with my Spellbinder dies. Then I used some aqua blue paper for the background to create a sky. The kite's were paper pieced with red and yellow. I added some simple aqua blue twine to accent the sky! Notice that I added a small punched heart to the beginning of the word love..

I created this card last week with another of Nicole's fun sets called "Perfect Match". I was thrilled to receive Honorable Mentions at CASology and CAS(e) this Sketch!!

Have you checked out the Sweet Stamp Shop?  You should! There are so many wonderful sets to use and they stamp beautifully!!
