Clean and Simple #142 , My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #43 and There She Goes #128

Happy Sunday stamping friends. Another week is about to begin and a busy one at that with Halloween. It will be a fun day at school, I know all my little ghosts and goblins will be looking forward to our day and our Halloween party in the afternoon!  Tonight I wanted to play along with the Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. I loved the idea of using the colours Red, Chocolate and Ivory! So I inked up my Stampendous stamp called Agapanthus Cluster and coloured it with my copic markers.

I found the Wednesday Sketch Challenge over at My Favorite Things and decided to try to make it clean and simple with the colours Ivory, Chocolate and Red.  You'll notice that I tied a bow with my natural linen thread and that respresents the circle in the sketch. I tried to add a butterfly but it just didn't look right to me on the card!  I went for a natural look to this card with the thread and the feel so my card would qualify for the There She Goes Challenge to be Au Natural.

Thanks for stopping by!!!  I am so happy you did! If you have a moment, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my card! This was a different style of card for me to make but I wanted to try something different. All this week I have been trying new styles, exploring the wonderful world of creativity!!  Oh how I love to craft!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Agapanthus Cluster Stampendous, AMUSE Sentiment
Inks: Copics, Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa
Papers: Natural Ivory (SU), Very Vanilla (SU), Basic Grey DSP
Extras: Linen Thread SU, Scallop Edge Border Punch (SU), Crimper

My Favorite Things Guest Designer Search

Looking for the Paper Players Blog Hop?  Please CLICK HERE.

Hello stamping friends!  Well at My Favorite Things, they are having a Guest Designer search!  I was so excited to see this opportunity and decided to play along!  Their theme is to "Bling it On"!  So I truly hope I "BLUNG" it!!  As you can see from my first picture, I used some silver glimmer paper to create a snowy scene...she is making a snowman and I wanted the scene to just shine!

I paper pieced her jacket, she looks quite festive doesn't she? And I paper pieced the snow piled below her paper pieced boots.  That glimmer paper is tough to stamp on but I found if I left the stamp on the page for a full minute, the ink did show up.  So then I cut out the snowy mound and glued it in place under her boots.  I used a strip of Music Patter Paper from my 6x6 Bo Bunny Et Cetra pack to echo the sentiment...one of my favourite Christmas songs..."Baby It's Cold Outside"...

I hope you have enjoyed viewing my card! To see the other samples or to play along yourself, please click HERE. You never know unless you try!! Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Paper Players Challenge #70 {Anything Goes Fall} and BLOG CANDY!!!

This week at the Paper Players we have an "Fall Themed Anything Goes Challenge" for you!.  I have BLOG CANDY at the end of this post!!! Be sure to enter for it!

I decided to showcase the set called "Creative Elements". This one is a pretty set with a flower that looks like a mum to me. I decided to create a Fall coloured card, with a vibrant Cherry Cobbler Mum as the main focal point.

Here is a closeup of my card! Notice that I stamped my Textured Crumb Cake Paper with the En Francais background stamp and then stamped the swirl from "Creative Elements" in Soft Suede right over top. Then I coloured in the swirl with my Crumb Cake Marker.  Everything is sponged with Crumb Cake or Soft Suede ink.

I used my Scallops #2 die for the centre of the card and used my mat pack and paper piecer to make holes in the scallops.  The butterfly is stamped in Early Espresso Ink onto Very Vanilla Paper, then I fussy cut it out and hightlighted it with some pearls.  Yes that piece in behind the scallop circle is crimped! Oh how I love my Crimper!

Shabby Tea Room Challenge #85 {Happy Halloween}

All week I have been trying to get this card together for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge. I have never played their challenge before and I was excited to play along!!  This week they are asking for a Halloween Themed card with the colours Orange, Purple and Black as well as some twine.  So I went to work, using another free digi from Torico. I just love her sweetly drawn images!  Here is the inspiration photo from the Shabby Tea Room:

  • I printed out the digi from Torico on my printer and cut it out with a circle nestabilities.
  • I coloured the image with my Copics.
  • The cardstock I used is Crumb Cake paper and I inked up my En Francais background stamp, I thought it looked like a "spell".
  • The DSP is some from my stash and I mimicked the scalloped around my main image at the bottom of the card with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.
  • I also added a pearl to each loop.
  • I finished it off with a sweet orange rose and some twine, wanted it to look spider webish and a simple sentiment at the bottom of the card!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  I sure hope you enjoyed my card today!  Be sure to check out the Shabby Tea Room to see what the DT created and all the other cards linked there. Such amazing inspiration!!  Please leave me a comment, I love reading them! I am also offering some blog candy, and you can find that post by clicking HERE.

Friday Mashup #30, Scrapbooker's Paradise #39 {Celebrate Special Moments}

This week at the Friday Mashup, Heidi is challenging us to use up thoses scraps and to use her awesome sketch!  I had fun with her sketch and used the "Seaside Lighthouse" stamp set from Essential Stamps again.  I made another card with this set too...please click HERE to see it.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using the "Sketch".
  2. Or Make a project using "Recycled / Repurposed Materials or Supplies".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project "Using The Sketch and Recycled /Repurposed Materials or Supplies".
My recycled items were the scraps from the first card I made, some cut twine that I had in my cut ribbon stash bag and a brad I had deep in my stash that I never use! This card is also for the challenge over at Scrapbooker's Paradise, which is to create a Masculine Card.

My hubby and I love to get away to the Westcoast and hear the waves crashing. We even spent our honeymoon at this location. This will be a card I give him for our next trip out there in January. We also do this big walk around the local lighthouse. It is a gorgeous walk!

CQ #108, SP #38 {Even Monsters Love Flowers}

I am sorely lacking in Halloween stamps...so I found this free digi stamp from Torico and decided it would be perfect for a couple of challenges!  Usually I don't get the chance to join in a Halloween card challenge, so I am pretty excited!  SO I took my colours from the Colour Q. I didn't need to go Halloween with this great colour combo, but I thought...why not!  So I coloured my monster with Copics and cut him out of a circle nestability.  I coloured his hair like Candy Corn.

Then I decided to play along with the Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge to create a Halloween card! How fun!  I am new to this challenge blog, and just found them last night, so I was excited to play!  I even finished the inside of my card!

Then an idea struck me, what if I made a monster card and added some sweet flowers to the side like a "pretty"card...LOL! Monster and Flowers?!! That is not the "norm" but hey, I was having fun! I think my monster is mad at me...but deep down I know..."even monsters love flowers...."

Freshly Made Sketches #8-{Look for the Silver Lining}

Hump day is here! Hooray!  I'll admit it, I am pooped. But looking at the bright side, there is nothing like a Freshly Made Sketch to spruce things up! This week we have Holly Endress as our Featured Designer. Holly is our fearless leader at The Friday Mashup and I am so happy to have her on board!  And so without further ado, here is the sketch!

I have been trying out some "new to me" stamps and papers. This week I wanted to play with a digi stamp from Torico. I love her sweetly drawn digital images and who could resist this sweet puppy dog face.

I coloured him with similar colours as Rolley (our pup).  I wanted the pattern paper to look like raindrops falling heavily out of the sky! The sentiment is from AMUSE and the flowers are some from my stash.  I also used a Tempting Turquoise base and Whisper White as an accent colour.
I coloured the image with my Copics and used my Circle Nestabilities to cut out the shape. The scalloped border was created with my SU! Scallop Edge Punch.  I wanted to complete the card on the inside and so added some pattern paper and a flower, to make it all match plus another sentiment from AMUSE..."Thinking of You".  We hope that you will join Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

WSC-{Celebrate}

Tonight I wanted to play along with the sketch at WSC Getting Sketchy.  I don't own any of their stamps so I had to improvise. This was the perfect chance to use sweet Lily from Pink Cat Studios.

Here is the sketch. It had a lot of fun panels which I found to be challenging but really wanted to try!

And here is my card I created for this sketch.  I hope you like it!  I used some Echo Park Paper and coloured the image with my Copics. Then I added a big button from my stash. I used the Curly Label Punch for my sentiment and added a couple of pearls. The main strip of paper in the background was crimped to add some interest.

CPS #241 {Seaside Hello}

The Card Positioning Challenge has a great sketch this week and I was inspired to play along!  I loved the layout and decided to play with some Bo Bunny Paper and a new stamp set called "Seaside Lighthouse" by Essential Stamps.

You should see my fingers!  I used a sponge and ink to colour the image and to add some distressing to the edges.  I also used some twine atthe bottom of my card and tied it in a knot. The twine was a gift from my friend Jen.  Thanks Jen, so happy I got the chance to use it!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

CR84FN Challenge #41 {with deepest Sympathy}

I love the colour challenges over at CR84FN. The design team samples are jaw droppingly amazing!!  They are all so perfect and this week my creative juices were flowing as soon as I saw the beautiful soft colours.

I decided to use some pattern paper from the Bo Bunny et cetra pack...I have the 6x6 package and I love the soft colours in there. I found the main piece that I used for the card base and went from there.  I had these roses in my stash and they seemed to work.  I also used some lace ribbon, to add another accent element to the card.  I also added pearls all around the scalloped circle.

Something I rarely do is to stamp the sentiment on the scallop circle. Usually I would cut another circle out of cream coloured cardstock and then stamp on that.  I am happy with stamping on the Baja Breeze paper...it is something different for me!

Paper Players #69 {Shabby Birthday}

Sunday already! Wow! This week at the Paper Players, the lovely Nance has challenged us with a gorgeous sketch!  Her sketch had me inspired right away and I decided to continue with the shabby, vintage style I have been exploring.  I made THIS CARD yesterday in the shabby vintage style too.

Pool Party is one of the new "In Colours" from Stampin' Up and I thought it would like pretty on my roses from "Elements of Style".  So I inked them up with my Pool Party Marker. Then I inked the leaves in another new In Colour called "Lucky Limeade".  The Designer Paper is from the In Colour Designer Paper Pack.  I inked the edges with my Soft Suede ink and a sponge.  For some reason, I am really loving butterflies and so out came the Beautiful Wings embosslit die again.  I added some pearls as accents.

We hope that you will join the Paper Players Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!
