Dynamic Duos #18-Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade

This week at Dynamic Duos, we have a bright colour combo for the start of the month with Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade. They are in truth, my favourite colours and I was excited to use them this week!

I wanted to make something fun for my classroom, so I decided to make a pennant, with these fun vibrant colours. I cut the triangles myself...here is what I did...

  1. I cut a piece of cardstock (red or green) to be 5 1/2" squared.
  2. Then I used my scoring tool to create a score at 2 1/4" or in the middle from top to bottom.
  3. Then I put the paper in my cutter, and lined up the top corner with the bottom of the middle score line and cut off that piece.
  4. I did this on both sides so that I was left with a triangle.
  5. Then I placed the triangle into my Chevron embossing folder to add some texture to the top of my triangle.

Using my cropping tool, I crimped some eyelets into each corner, to run the Baker's Twine through. I also used a Memory Box Die for the white circle, isn't it pretty!! So lacy! The butterfly was punched out with the new Stampin' Up Butterfly die and I added three gemstones to each one. The 2 3/8" scallop circle added some interest below the white, lacy circle. I am going to hang this along my whiteboard at school, it is fun and colourful!!! I hope the kids will enjoy it!

I would love for you to come and join us this week at Dynamic Duos

Create with Connie and Mary & Simply Stamping Challenges {To My Friend}

This is my second post for the day, if you are looking for the Merry Monday Challenge, please click here.

Good morning blogging friends! I was up entirely too late last night, my mind racing with teaching ideas for the year! This time of year, no teacher can sleep! LOL! So I went in search of some challenges to play and came across a delightful new challenge called Simply Stamping and the always fabulous Create with Connie and Mary ChallengeSo I went to work! I loved the pretty colours at Simply Stamping and the CCMC Sketch was fabulous, I decided to flip it up to make a vertical card.

My card is very clean! I used the Stripes Embossing Folder (my fav) for the background of Very Vanilla! The flowers come from my absolute favourite new set called Summer Silhouettes. It is such a pretty set! I inked up my butterfly in Calypso Coral and the flowers use Pretty in Pink and Old Olive. I couldn't resist adding some bling with my gemstones...love those!!! Thank you to both teams for wonderful inspiration!!

{Supplies Used}

Inks: Calypso Coral, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive

Dynamic Duos #16-Congratulations

Happy Saturday! Today I am off to a wedding of a very good friend. I am so happy for her! This week at Dynamic Duos, it is the black tie week which means black plus a colour. This week that colour is River Rock or something close! I have decided to resume my design team duties at Dynamic Duos. I am still taking time off from the Paper Players and Freshly Made Sketches. So using this week's colours, I have created a wedding card for her...

I needed to ink up my new butterfly set and use the coordinating punch from Stampin' Up! Those sweet butterflies are adorned with dazzling diamonds, just for for a wedding card!  The white part of the center panel is embossed as well, to add some texture!

Won't you come and join us this week at Dynamic Duos, remember, you do not need to use Stampin' Up colours but use something that closely matches. Starting in September, we will be inviting 2-3 Guest designers per month to Dynamic Duos
