Scrapbook Essentials BC-Challenge #2 {Wet or Dry Embossing}

This week at Scrapbook Essentials BC, we are challenging you to use Wet or Dry embossing on your project!  I choose to use the Seaside Lighthouse Set, which is one of my favourite sets from Essential Stamps!  I love the way this set stamps, and I coloured it with my Copics.

I hope you can see the Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder I used on the background piece of my card, I thought it looked like swirling air...what do you think?  I also finished it off with a button, to add a little interest.  My designer paper is from Kaiser Craft, the "Vintage Timeless" collection.

Seaside Lighthouse
We hope you will get the chance to join our challenge this week which will go live at midnight.  Get out your embossing machine, be it heat gun or cuttlebug, and get bossy!!!

Remember, participants do not have to use Essential Stamps to join us.  Just play along with what you have!  If you do use our stamp sets, your name will be entered into a draw at the end of the month for a FREE Essential Stamps Set.  How cool!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Freshly Made Sketches #9-A Sketch from Tui Nathan

Welcome to November Guest Designers Lauri Ingram and Christy Q!!!

Happy Wednesday! Today Freshly Made Sketches Design Team Member, Tui Nathan has designed an awesome sketch for us to use!  I chose to use a stamp from "Essential Stamps" which is a new stamping company in Canada!

This set comes in little stamping pieces so you can create the "scene" yourself!  That is what I did, placing the seagull at the front of the card and the ocean and clouds at the back.  The grass was stamped separately and the gulls in the distance were too.  I stamped everything in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and coloured everything with my Copic markers.  The sentiment is Penny Black.

We hope that you will join Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!  Sorry for the short post but I have been battling a headache and am off to bed. Happy crafting.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Friday Mashup #30, Scrapbooker's Paradise #39 {Celebrate Special Moments}

This week at the Friday Mashup, Heidi is challenging us to use up thoses scraps and to use her awesome sketch!  I had fun with her sketch and used the "Seaside Lighthouse" stamp set from Essential Stamps again.  I made another card with this set too...please click HERE to see it.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using the "Sketch".
  2. Or Make a project using "Recycled / Repurposed Materials or Supplies".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project "Using The Sketch and Recycled /Repurposed Materials or Supplies".
My recycled items were the scraps from the first card I made, some cut twine that I had in my cut ribbon stash bag and a brad I had deep in my stash that I never use! This card is also for the challenge over at Scrapbooker's Paradise, which is to create a Masculine Card.

My hubby and I love to get away to the Westcoast and hear the waves crashing. We even spent our honeymoon at this location. This will be a card I give him for our next trip out there in January. We also do this big walk around the local lighthouse. It is a gorgeous walk!

We hope that you will join the Friday Mashup Challenge this week!  And be sure to join the ladies at Scrapbooker's Paradise.  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

CPS #241 {Seaside Hello}

The Card Positioning Challenge has a great sketch this week and I was inspired to play along!  I loved the layout and decided to play with some Bo Bunny Paper and a new stamp set called "Seaside Lighthouse" by Essential Stamps.

You should see my fingers!  I used a sponge and ink to colour the image and to add some distressing to the edges.  I also used some twine atthe bottom of my card and tied it in a knot. The twine was a gift from my friend Jen.  Thanks Jen, so happy I got the chance to use it!!
