Feeling {Fall"ish"}

On Friday night, I was so revved up from the busy week that I could not sleep! So I went about cleaning up my craft space and then became inspired to make a card! It is amazing how cleaning up my craft table inspires me! I have also realized that late night computer usage really interferes with deep sleep...it is amazing how hard it is to turn off your brain after being on the computer before sleep time. This is why my crafting has taken a back seat, it seems the only time I have to craft is late night...hope to strike a balance soon.

Stamps: French Foliage, Pursuit of Happiness
Inks: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze
Papers: Vanilla, Soft Suede, Basic Black
Extras: Circle Punches

I created my card for a few different challenges...

Paper Players Challenge #70 {Anything Goes Fall} and BLOG CANDY!!!

This week at the Paper Players we have an "Fall Themed Anything Goes Challenge" for you!.  I have BLOG CANDY at the end of this post!!! Be sure to enter for it!

I decided to showcase the set called "Creative Elements". This one is a pretty set with a flower that looks like a mum to me. I decided to create a Fall coloured card, with a vibrant Cherry Cobbler Mum as the main focal point.

Here is a closeup of my card! Notice that I stamped my Textured Crumb Cake Paper with the En Francais background stamp and then stamped the swirl from "Creative Elements" in Soft Suede right over top. Then I coloured in the swirl with my Crumb Cake Marker.  Everything is sponged with Crumb Cake or Soft Suede ink.

I used my Scallops #2 die for the centre of the card and used my mat pack and paper piecer to make holes in the scallops.  The butterfly is stamped in Early Espresso Ink onto Very Vanilla Paper, then I fussy cut it out and hightlighted it with some pearls.  Yes that piece in behind the scallop circle is crimped! Oh how I love my Crimper!

The Paper Players #67- Colours from Jaydee

Happy Sunday everyone!  I have set up my blog to post today and I hope it has!  Hubby and I are on a two day getaway.  It is the Thanksgiving long weekend here in Canada.  I actually spent the last three days of the week at home, due to an eye infection.  But it seems to be better, thank goodness for eye drops!  I was starting to look a little scary and Halloween is still weeks away!  It isn't pretty!  This week at the Paper Players, Jaydee had a wonderful colour challenge for us!  I'll admit, my Mojo seems to be wacky these days, but I am happy with the card I created, I hope you are too!

This week, the Fan Favourite Challenge is "Autumn-the Reprieve from Summer"...

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge by Lisa Runyon:
  1. Make a "Fall themed" project (it's right around the corner, people!).
  2. Or Make a Project that uses "Brads...lots and lots of Brads".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a fun "Fall themed project that uses lots and lots of Brads".
I created a card that uses brads, but not LOTS of brads...I need to use brads more, they are such a great accent!!! I inked up my "French Foliage" stamp set and combined it with the new "Pursuit of Happiness" word set.  I love it!  I wanted to create a corrugated look on my card, so I got out my crimper!  I used the colours Early Espresso, More Mustard and River Rock.

Picture Perfect Creations #68-Clean and Simple

This week at Picture Perfect Creations we have a very pretty trio of colours that would be perfect as a baby card!  But I needed decided to ink up my new Hostess set called "Simply Soft".  I inked up the images with black stazon ink and then watercoloured the flowers with Peach Parfait, More Mustard and Bashful Blue.

I used the stripes embossing folder again, I just love it!!! This is another clean and simple card, it is always nice to have a blank card in the stash!

Paper Players Theme Challenge #58- School Daze Theme Challenge

This week at the Paper Players, Ann has a fun theme challenge for us!  She is challenging us to create a project based on "School Daze".  As a teacher, I know that school will be starting soon and I wanted to make a special card for the staff I worked with last year, to help them celebrate the start of the new school year! I thought this sentiment from "Pursuit of Happiness" was the perfect sentiment for a group of teachers.

I also inked up another new set called "Fruit and Flowers".  As soon as I saw this set in the catalogue I knew I had to have it! I love the apple image and inked it up in "Poppy Parade" (you must know by now that I LOVE this colour) and "Lucky Limeade" which is a new In Colour for 2011-2012.  I highlighted the entire card with Chocolate Chip for contrast.  I also used the School Lines single stamp to create the lines for my sentiment and to stamp the background of the card.

I also finished off the inside of the card with the School Lines stamp and another apple that I coloured with markers and huffed.  The apple on the front is nested in the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and the 2 3/8" Circle Punch. Can you see the school lines on the front of the card too?

CCMC #161 and Creative Sketches CS42S

I have had such a great week, stamping and playing along with some challenges that I don't always get to play!  Tonight I could not resist playing along with Create wth Connie and Mary, I love their colour combo this week!!!!  SO pretty!

I also found a new to me challenege called "Creative Sketches".  I love working with sketches and this one really inspired me.  I have been looking at it since yesterday and when I saw the CCMC colours, I had an idea!

So I ceate this card with my Daisy #2 Die for my Big Shot and with my trusty Ribbon Punch!  I used the black as an accent and really tried to hightlight the Daffodil Delight.  The centre white panel is embossed with the new "Stripes" embossing folder (becoming a FAST favourite) and the background is stamped with En Francais in Old Olive on Old Olive cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

JAI 78 and CCMC 160

Conmarsum11winner

**Edited to add**
Oh my goodness! This card won at both Just Add Ink and Create with Connie And Mary this week!  I am so thrilled!  It has been a long time since I have won a challenge!  Thank you so much ladies!!!!

I have not had the chance or even the drive to make some cards for challenges in quite a while.  I think I was on burn out mode but after two weeks away from the computer, I do feel refreshed and I was inspired by the great sketch at Create with Connie and Mary and with the awesome colours at Just Add Ink.
I'll admit, I was really challenged by the sketch but I decided to go for it!  I inked up a new stamp called "School Lines" for my sentiment.  The sentiment is also from a new stamp set called "Pursuit of Happiness".  I love the sentiments in the set!

The weather is not cooperating with me today for photos, sorry they are so dark but it was worse in my craftroom!  Sometimes photos just don't work!  I actually used the new embossing folder for the background, it is all straight, chunky lines and the piece of Chocolate Chip paper is crimped.  The flower is from the set called "Growing Green" and is stamped in Black Stazon and watercoloured on watercolour paper with Not Quite Navy Ink.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

CR84FN and Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge

I have never played along with the CR84FN Challenge before.  I just LOVED the awesome colour combo and decided that I wanted to give it a try!  The Design Team inspiration is amazing!  Then I went in search of a sketch, and found an awesome one for the SCS Sketch Challenge this week!  The samples over there were inspiring too!!!

I decided to ink up another new stamp set (no, I didn't buy EVERYTHING from the new catalogue!! LOL!).  This set is called "Summer Solstice" and it was the number one set I wanted when I saw the new cattie!  I LOVE how it stamps and it is really affordable!

I used the new In Colour called "Wisteria Wonder" and used Celery and Basic Gray as the colour challenge suggested!!!  The sentiment is from " Pursuit of Happiness" again, I just LURVE that set!!!  Once again, I used my favourite French Script background stamp!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Colour Q Challenge #96

Arielle has a pretty colour combo on right now at the Colour Q.  I love the new In Colour "Lucky Limeade" and Basic Gray is also one of my fav colours as are blues, so I decided to give this combo a whirl!

I used some more new goodies!  Another sentiment from "Pursuit of Happiness" and I also used a new set called "My Friend" for the floral image which I inked up with my new In Colour Markers.  I also embossed the Bashful Blue background with the new "Stripes" embossing folder.

 Thanks for stopping by!!!
