Simon Says "Stencil It"

Made another simple card last night playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Stencil Challenge. I was happy to ink up some Altenew use some washi tape and a Tim Holtz stencil in the background.

I wanted the flowers to have a whimsical feel and so I purposely did not line them up properly.

Altenew May Inspiration Challenge

Tonight I could not wait to play with my new Altenew stamps. I ordered a whole bunch of them! I think I fell in love with the Altenew Stamps because the are forgiving and artistic. I love that I can stamp "out of the lines".

Tonight I used watercolor paper and distress inks. Stamping the images in the distress inks, I then used my watermarker to "pull" the colour out of the flowers. I was inspired to use the colours in Altenew's Tunisia Inspiration much fun and pushed me out of my comfort zone! I was also intrigued and inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. Hope you can see my interpretation!

This single layer card took minutes to make. It was easy and fun!

SugarPea Designs {Welcome Baby}-Anything Goes

I am happy to share two cards I made for the current Anything Goes Challenge at SugarPea Designs! I LOVE the new Welcome Baby baby set and dies just released this month at SPD! I am a sucker for cuteness! I am also linking up to the current Paper Issues Linky party.

The best thing is I used some scraps to make the baby outfits and the die made it super easy to cut out!

Freshly Made Sketches & Altenew {Hello}

Today I am sharing a card I made for the current Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and Altenew's Tunisia Inspiration Challenge. Once again, I was inspired by the textured background. I used some new Altenew flowers called Whimsical Flowers and the sentiment is called Halftone Hello. The sketch is by Cindy Lovell! I always admire Cindy's work! This sketch was so easy to work with, I think I may need to make a few more cards with it!

May Challenge: From Places Abroad – Tunisia

Using an older SU! embossing folder, I embossed the background on white paper. I used Crisp Cantaloupe and Cajun Craze for my Flowers and Pear Pizzazz and Gumball Green for the leaf. The sentiment was stamped in black ink. I decided to use up some retired Smoky Slate ribbon from SU! as well. I used a MFT die called Stitched Rectangles.

I hope you will come and play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches

Freshly Made Sketches {Just Because}

Happy Wednesday! We have a brand new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches from Jennifer Brum and I LOVE it. I used a stamp set from MFT Stamps that is retired and a sentiment set from Simon Says Stamp.

Are you intimidated by the slice through the paper? I was at first but then I discovered a little trick!

1. Cut your top layer to be 4" x 5"-cut 2 layers in the colours you want.
2. Then put both pieces together on your cutter and slice the diagonal through it.
3. Then line up the pieces on your card as you would like!
4. There should be a 1/4" space between the pieces now...I hope that makes sense

I created the stain glassed flowers again. I shared how to make these flowers on my post found HERE.

The Challenge #34 {Yellow, Orange & Green}

Hello and welcome to The Challenge! Every week I host a new challenge on my blog and this week we have a fun and summery "Colour Challenge" to inspire you! We hope it does!

For my card, I decided to use a stamp set from Verve called "Kind Words" and I paired it with the "Vintage Roses" set from Altenew. I have been watercolouring a lot lately and I decided to add some water to the floral images. I am playing along with a couple of other challenges today! Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Let's Get Sentimental, Altenew's Tunisia Inspiration Challenge and Verve Floral Inspiration Challenge

May Challenge: From Places Abroad – Tunisia Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

I added some neutral twine to my card and used a background die from MFT Stamps and their Stitched Rectangle Die to mimic the design in the Altenew Inspiration photo. I thought the background die looks like the inspiration and texture. I hope it worked!

This month we are honoured to have Sandie Munro with us as our Featured Designer! I absolutely LOVE her CAS (clean and simple) design.

The design team has once again shown all the way you can be inspired this week!
