Freshly Made Sketches #1

September 7th is finally here and with it the launch of my new Challenge Blog called "Freshly Made Sketches".  Every week there will be a new sketch to try and of course one of our participants will be the "Queen" of Clean!  The whole twist to the sketch challenge is to use "clean" designs...we welcome lots of embellishments, this doesn't have to be a "simple" design, just clean!!!

Here is this week's sketch:

And here is the card I made for it!  I went for a birthday theme to go with the current Paper Players Birthday Challenge.  I used some retired Designer Paper but paired it up with the awesome Cupcake Punch!  The background is the Stripes Embossing Folder (a new favourite) and I added some bling, a la Nance Leedy by colouring my SU! Rhinestones with a red sharpie...thanks for the tip Nance!

I hope you will come and join us for our first challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and check out the Design Team Samples.  I sure hope you enjoy my sketch!!!!

  2. Lesley, how fabulous that you chose a Birthday card for the "birth" of your new challenge site! Congratulations, my friend.
Love this bright, cheerful card. You have inspired me to use some of this paper for cards for the OWH card drive. Thanks for inspiring me - and for inviting me to be your featured designer this week.

  12. Such a bright & cheerful card! Love it, and your new Sketch Challenges!
Question: Can you use any stamps for these challenges, or do they have to be Stampin Up? I don't have any SU products and really can't afford to buy any, but I would love to play along. Your answer is much appreciated! ;o)
