For my card I used a pretty sentiment from VERVE as I am also playing along with their current Colour Challenge and I am playing along with the current Time Out Challenge "Home". I used my sketch only for my card this week! The poinsettia is from Spellbinders and the embossed panel is a Couture Creations embossing folder. I kept my card simple.

Stamps: Verve {Bright Spirits}
Inks: Black
Papers: Red, Kraft, Green, White
Extras: Spellbinder Poinsettia Die, Couture Creations Embossing Folder, pearl

The design team have created inspiring samples to get you into the crafting mood! Some of them used the sketch, some of them used the colours and some of them combined both!
Come and join us! This challenge we are thrilled to have Karen Day joining us as a Guest Designer! Karen won the last challenge! Welcome, Karen!

Verve & Festive Friday {Bright Spirits}

Happy Saturday! Today I had the chance to play along at Verve. I love using my Spellbinders Poinsettia die and I used my Copic markers to add some "veins" to the poinsettia bloom. I like the dimension it added! I used an old MME paper pad...felt good to use some of it up. The doily comes from Doodlebug.

Bright Spirits

I used a brand new set I just ordered from VERVE called "Bright Spirits".

I enjoy non-traditional Christmas cards but I really love the impact of Kraft, Red, Green and Black. Using some distress inks, I sponged every edge but left the doily white. The music notes are an old background stamp I own...I stamped it in Kraft ink and sponged it too.

I am playing along with the following challenges:

CAS(E) this Sketch #100 {Sparkle}

Wow! Today is our 100th Challenge over at CAS(E) this Sketch! I love being on this team! It is my chance to just make a card and play! The team have created awesome samples to inspire you but I have to admit, this challenge was really challenging for me...I LOVE the sketch, but I struggled.

I think I just over-thought it! In the end, I realized that something sticking out from the top of the card or the bottom would work; then I saw my poinsettia stamp! I inked it up in Silver ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. The poinsettia is a Stampin' Up stamp and the sentiment comes from one of my all time favourite MFT stamp sets. I don't think either stamp is available anymore!

I was inspired by the cue card at Casology to create a CAS Christmas card or tag! I also was inspired to use the sentiment because of the shiny silver embossing which in turn was inspired by Virginia's Challenge to use Metallic on my card!

Amy's Look Back Blog Post!

My good pal, Amy Tsuruta, is having an interesting linky party on her blog! She is celebrating 7 years of blogging and she wants us to upload one of our first posts/cards! I decided to link up THIS POST and this card!

I remember making these cards vividly! I was so proud of myself!! LOL! I had learned about this stamp set at my Stampin' Up party and I loved it! So I was thrilled to use it to make a card or 4!

I think I take better photos now (I am still working on it)!

I actually started a blog in 2008 but deleted it...I was too shy to share! It is amazing how far I have come and how much I still love to stamp!

Notice I have no watermark, no link to the challenge I played along with and no "props" in my pictures...hehehe...

Thank you to Amy for this walk down Memory Lane...

SugarPea Designs Sketch Challenge #15 {Let it Snow}

Hooray for Monday! This promises to be a great week. I am excited to share my card today for the SugarPea Designs Sketch Challenge. If you play along with us, you have a chance to win a prize! Mind you, you DO NOT need to use our stamps!!! Although, we like it when you do!!!

I hope you will play along with this simple sketch! It is perfect for whipping up those Christmas cards! I also combined my card with the colours over at FUSION. I was inspired to make a snowflake card. I did not add the little flag on the sketch because I used a tag. Instead I embossed a snowflake!
