Seize the Sketch #20 {Joyous Season}

Wow, two weeks have FLOWN by and we are sharing another sketch at Seize the Sketch! This time I am the sketcher and I hope you will enjoy my sketch. We have a few changes over at Seize the Sketch. My sketch is fairly simple and I decided to keep it monochromatic to keep it on the cleaner side. I inked up an older MFT Christmas set and decided to get out a Lil' Inker snowflake die. My paper comes from the Upsy Daisy paper company but they are now closed. It was hard to cut into this pretty paper but I loved the soft blue colour with the navy & white combo.

I am trying to play with my photography skills and this card was taken in natural light. I like how it looks much more than when I use my light tent and lights. I want to add some subtle props in the background soon...I am working on this. I managed to get the background "unfocused" which is the look I was hoping to achieve!!

Paper Sweeties May Release Sneak Peeks

Hello and welcome to another stamp release at Paper Sweeties. This month is all about Getting Well and that nasty flu season! Spring colds are rampant in my school and so I was so happy to see these sweet little stamp sets! I made a little "Get Well Bundle" complete with a kraft bag full of tea and mini cards...just what the doctor ordered!

I used the Beautiful Little Wishes Sweet Cuts die for my sentiment...I inked the sentiment in plain black ink. This baggie holds all the goodies below...I kept my cards clean and simple...allowing the simple sentiment to do all of the work!

Case Study {With Sympathy}

Happy Saturday! Wow, this day has just ZOOMED by! I had big hopes for today-laundry, cooking, planting, walking. I managed to get some cleaning and a walk in but the rest will have to wait as I really wanted to play along with CASESTUDY. 

This week's inspiration inspired me to create something clean and simple with a bit of texture. I loved the muted colours and they inspired me to make a sympathy card. I also liked the size of the card and tried a slightly smaller card than an A2. I am excited to play along with this challenge as it encourages me to craft out of my comfort zone.

I hope you can see how I was inspired...it was a fun to play along.

Mother's Day Ensemble for SRM Stickers & Paper Issues {Mum's the Word}

Today is my day to share some Mother's Day goodies over at the SRM blog. I wanted to create a little gift baggie for my mom and made a matching card. The bag is muslin and so easy to use. I am also playing along with my pals at Paper Issues...it has been much too long! Miss you girls!

What's Mew {Sugar Pea Designs Sketch Challenge}

I love the sweet images at Sugar Pea Designs. I decided to order some of their stamps last month and could not wait to play along with their current Sketch Challenge. I am a bit rusty with my Copics but in the past couple of weeks I have been using them a bit more once again. 

I used their fun sketch and flipped it for the image from What's Mew. 

The Challenge #6 {My Friend}

Hello and welcome to another sketch at The Challenge. This week I am sharing a card I recently submitted to the Paper Crafts magazine submission call. My card did not make it into the November magazine but I was so excited to be able to share it for my inspiration for The Challenge. I used a dress form die from Memory Box and paired it with some flowers from Verve Stamps. I also added a couple of wood veneer leaves, some twine and used some fun patterns on my paper...to personalize the card for a friend. I used s pretty sentiment from SRM Stickers.

Sketch Measurements:
(the pieces all have a "mat" around them in black...
those pieces are 1/8" larger than the measurements below.)

Card Base- 4.25" x 5.5"

Middle Rectangle- 3" x 4"
Scallop Piece- 1.5" x 4"
