The Challenge #36 {Theme Challenge-Celebrating Teachers}

Welcome to The Challenge!

This week we are celebrating teachers! The end of the school year is near and I know many people like to make special cards or gifts for special teachers. You do not have to make something with an apple on it...sometimes a simple thank you is all that is required! Take the inspiration from the photo! We hope you are inspired to join us!

I decided to use some SRM Stickers to create a special card for a colleague who is going through a rough time. She is so special to me and I know she will like this. Going to add a few chocolates to this as well. I used the sentiment and the apple stickers from SRM Stickers and the paper is from my stash. Sweet and simple.

The design team have created some inspiration to get you in the crafting mood! Come and join us! Our weekly winner will be our next Guest Designer! So come and join the fun! We are thrilled to have two guest designers with us this week and this is our final week with the lovely, Sandie Munro. She has been an incredible Featured Designer!! Thank you, Sandie!

Welcome Baby {SugarPea Designs Colour Challenge}

There is a brand new challenge over at SugarPea Designs...it is a COLOUR Challenge and the first colours are SO pretty!!! I couldn't wait to get out my new Welcome Baby stamp and die set to make a baby card! I think the colours are perfect for a baby card! I am also linking to the current Paper Issues Linky party.

I used a doily to create a "feminine" feel to my card and kept the design simple. I stamped each letter to spell "baby" in Strawberry Slush ink and cut out the blocks with my scissors.

Store--Welcome-Baby

One of the new dies is this adorable rocking horse! I just used the die and found some yellow polka dot designer paper in my stash! Simple and easy!

Come and play along with us to win a credit to the store!! You do not have to use SugarPea Stamps but we love it when you do!

Simon Says "Stencil It"

Made another simple card last night playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Stencil Challenge. I was happy to ink up some Altenew use some washi tape and a Tim Holtz stencil in the background.

I wanted the flowers to have a whimsical feel and so I purposely did not line them up properly.

Altenew May Inspiration Challenge

Tonight I could not wait to play with my new Altenew stamps. I ordered a whole bunch of them! I think I fell in love with the Altenew Stamps because the are forgiving and artistic. I love that I can stamp "out of the lines".

Tonight I used watercolor paper and distress inks. Stamping the images in the distress inks, I then used my watermarker to "pull" the colour out of the flowers. I was inspired to use the colours in Altenew's Tunisia Inspiration Challenge...so much fun and pushed me out of my comfort zone! I was also intrigued and inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. Hope you can see my interpretation!

This single layer card took minutes to make. It was easy and fun!

SugarPea Designs {Welcome Baby}-Anything Goes

I am happy to share two cards I made for the current Anything Goes Challenge at SugarPea Designs! I LOVE the new Welcome Baby baby set and dies just released this month at SPD! I am a sucker for cuteness! I am also linking up to the current Paper Issues Linky party.

The best thing is I used some scraps to make the baby outfits and the die made it super easy to cut out!

Freshly Made Sketches & Altenew {Hello}

Today I am sharing a card I made for the current Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and Altenew's Tunisia Inspiration Challenge. Once again, I was inspired by the textured background. I used some new Altenew flowers called Whimsical Flowers and the sentiment is called Halftone Hello. The sketch is by Cindy Lovell! I always admire Cindy's work! This sketch was so easy to work with, I think I may need to make a few more cards with it!

May Challenge: From Places Abroad – Tunisia

Using an older SU! embossing folder, I embossed the background on white paper. I used Crisp Cantaloupe and Cajun Craze for my Flowers and Pear Pizzazz and Gumball Green for the leaf. The sentiment was stamped in black ink. I decided to use up some retired Smoky Slate ribbon from SU! as well. I used a MFT die called Stitched Rectangles.

I hope you will come and play along with us at Freshly Made Sketches

For my card, I inked up one of my favourite Stampin' Up floral stamps called "Elements of Style". I was inspired by the colours in the photo and went to work!
