Colour Q and Try Stampin' On a Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I had a great day at work!  When I got home I was checking out some of my favourite challenges and I was inspired to create!!!

I love the new challenge I found called Try Stampin' On a Tuesday. The Design Team is great and the sketches are open-ended and clean and simple!  The blog creator is a Canadian, just like me!!!  So I had to play along with them!!!  You really need to go and check them out!!!  I am using their sketch for my card, and I also used the Colour Q Colours this week, which are Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Kraft and Early Espresso.  Such a pretty and light combination of colours! I love it!!!

I have been thinking about inking up the "Charming" set, I have not used it in a while and I love it! Especially the pretty floral stamp that comes with it!  I inked it up with my SU! markers and used the Crumb Cake for the words behind the floral image.  Then using my crimper once again (yep, it is my favourite tool) I crimped the Pink Pirouette Paper...to make it a little more "vintage" feeling.

The sentiment is from "Because I Care" and I inked up the floral again and stamped it over top of the sentiment.  Thank you for stopping by!  If you have any questions, please email me...I would love to hear from you!!!

Stampin' Royalty ~ Scrapbook Page "Shy"

Sandra over at Stampin' Royalty has inspired me to use My Digital Studio more!  She is truly the master of it and had created some awesome pages.  Well, wanting to try it out, I have been working on creating some pages and uses sketches from my favourite challenge blogs to do so!

Here I am with the Stampin' Royalty Sketch...

I changed up the main image to be 3 images...it worked better on the 12 x 12 sheet.  Then I added an arrow at the bottom of the page instead of buttons.  My colours are Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Tempting Turquoise.

When my sister-in-law sees this I hope she will laugh!  These are some of my favourite photos!  This is of the 4 of us...one summer, not long ago.  Corey and I were just heading out of town, after a wonderful summer holiday visit and these were some of the last photos we took.  I have to say, my SIL is pretty fun and we get along too well!  She is a lot like my husband, or should I say, "He is a lot like her..."

Creating Digital Scrapbook Pages with My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up

I love scrapbooking...I really do but sometimes I get overwhelmed with where to start.  So last night, I was playing with "My Digital Studio" from Stampin' Up!  It is a digital scrapbooking system that is so easy to use and as I have said before, I love that there is no mess to clean up when I am done! LOL!!  So I took the Mojo Sketch (just under the wire) and the Colour Q colours and made a 12 x 12 page of some photos that have been sitting on my camera for a long time!!

Here is the page I created for the Mojo Sketch and the Colour Q:

The photos were taken in 2007...on a summer road trip.  I know my page is not very sophisticated but I am just learning the ropes here!!!  I love that I will be able to scrapbook all these wonderful trips and adventures we have been on!!!

So now, for my goal is to complete a digital scrapbook for my mother in law.  I have some great pictures of our trip to Ontario for Christmas 2009.  I want to try to make up a book and to get it printed.  I am going to use some of these marvelous challenges to create my pages and we will see what happens!!  Can I get a whole book done?  We shall see!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Players Challenge #40-Sketch by Nance and Blog Candy Winner

What a terrific week!  As you probably noticed, I have been playing with My Digital Studio and designed a brand new blog banner and created the new background too!  It is SO much fun!!!!  And I am very excited to post my first Card Tutorial for sale!  It has been well received!  Thank you to Cathy, Trudy, LeAnne, AM and Sandi for encouraging me to make my tutorial available to others!

This week at the Paper Players, Nance has provided us with a terrific sketch that can be dressed up or kept simple!  I decided to land somewhere in the middle of those two choices, coming up with a card that was easy to make and has some "extras" on it.

Here is the sketch!

And here is the card I created for it!  I always need more birthday cards!! Can you see that I embossed the top of the cupcake...so fun!!! And I just love the colour Melon Mambo!

Now, to announce my Blog Candy Winner!  A big thank you to everyone who shared their favourite type of challenge with me!  The randomly selected winner is...Tania!
Tania said:
I like sketches. It can be nice to have a theme, as Jan says, to help with stamp decisions, but sometimes I want the freedom to just choose a set on my own based on my personal card making needs.

Congratulations Tania!  Please send me your mailing address and I will get your candy out to you right away.  My email is located at the top of my blog. :D

Thank you for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Paper Players Blog to see the design inspiration and to upload your own creation!

Smiles,
Lesley

Celebrating Stampin' on a Tuesday!

Just a quick post and then I am off to bed!  I wanted to play along with Try Stampin' on Tuesday and Stampin' Celebration!  I inked everything up with Crumb Cake and a sponge...oh yes, I love my crumb cake ink and a sponge!  The Stampin' Celebration has a great colour combo/inspiration...and I also took my cue from their photo to make my card a thank you card, and of course the leaves and flowers also caught my eye...

So I got out the Growing Green set...my new fav!  I inked up the flower in black onto textured crumb cake cardstock...cut it out and sponged it! The backgrounds are the En Francais and Sanded Background stamps.  I added a couple of pearls...I love pearls!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Enjoy your weekend!
Smiles,
Lesley

MDS for the Stampin' 411 Challenge

I love working with My Digital Studio!  I purchased the Strength and Hope Digital set.  It is very pretty!  So tonight, I decided not to make a card but a scrapbook page instead!  I used the great sketch from the Stampin' 411 team and changed it up a bit.  The ribbon is replaced by a piece of designer paper and I didn't realize I had missed the 3 brads...that is what I get for going by memory!  I am still trying to figure out this program!

I have to say, I love that I can use this program, create a page and have no mess to clean up!! LOL!  The Strength and Hope set is to promote Breast Cancer awareness, partial proceeds go to cancer research.

Card Club Projects and new Club starting in April

I just had my card club this week!  I meet once a month with a fabulous group of ladies...we have fun and usually make two projects that they get to keep!  This month I was showing them the "Growing Green" stamp set which I LOVE!!!

We made two simple cards, showing how easy it is to make a Clean and Simple card quickly, if you need one for a special occasion but are short on time!  Birthdays are always a popular card to have on hand!  We also did the technique of stamping colour on colour...so we used Certainly Celery Ink on Certainly Celery Paper.  I love that look!!  It is hard to see in my bright photo but we stamped the smaller flowers from ths set right over the large flower.  The colours we used were: Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink and Certainly Celery.  We also completed the inside the same way.

For our second card, we used "Mr. Big" aka the Big Shot and embossed the whole front panel of the card front with the Finial Press Embossing Folder.  Then we stamped the main flower in Melon Mambo onto Pink Pirouette Paper! I love that look too!

Thanks ladies for another fun club!  I have a new Card Club starting in April.  We have room for 3 more ladies.  We will meet April, May and June.  Then take the summer off!  Then we will meet up again for September, October and November.  If you are interested in joining our Crafty Croghan Card Club or if you have any questions about the Club, please email me by clicking HERE and then leaving me a message.

Playing with Sale-A-Bration Stamp Sets

Don't forget to enter your name into my Blog Candy draw!  All info can be found by clicking HERE!

I wanted to make a couple of cards using three different Sale-A-Bration sets....I decided to ink up the "Funky Four" set, "Thank You Kindly" set and the "So Happy for You" set.  The Funky Four set has this cute little flower image in it that I inked up with my markers and I love that it fits in my scallop circle punch!

This card was a quick and fun card I created with the "So Happy for You" set! I love that little Shamrock!  I punched them out with my 3/4" circle punch!  The Designer Paper is from the "Jolly Holiday" Paper Pack again! I just love that Polka Dot Paper!  The sentiment is from the Hostess Level 2 set called "Something to Celebrate".

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you enjoy your day and get the chance to get inky!!

Picture Perfect Creations and Hand Stamped Sentiments

This week has been fabulous for me!  On Spring Break, creating furiously, trying so hard to play with all the challenges I love to visit and sometimes just do not get the chance to play!!  I noticed as I was setting up this post, that this is post 500 for me!  WOW!  I cannot believe that in 2 years I have posted 500 times...does that seem incredible?  Maybe it is just me! :D

Tonight...or should I say- this morning, I made a card for the current colour challenge at the Picture Perfect Creations.  I suspect a goodly portion of my 500 posts have been given over to colour challenges...I do LOVE them!!

The colours for the PPC Challenge this week are:

I wanted to create something springy and was also inspired by the Handstamped Sentiments Challenge...they are all about Easter and Spring this week with their Inspiration Challenge.  My pal Anne-Marie is one of their designers, so I just had to play along!!!

Inspired by the photos on the HSS site, I created a card with a window sill and flower box...in the flower box are some spring flowers, punched out with my Itty Bitty Punch Pack...they are really blooming! LOL!  Oh, and I added some major bling to each blossom...each flower has a little gemstone in it...I used the For All You Do set for the Artichoke Stems.

I hope you enjoyed my creation and get some time to play along with both of these great challenges!  Okay...I am off to bed now!!! LOL!

Sketchbook Saturday and Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I wanted to make a set of four cards for a class I am offering.  I went looking for some inspiration and found two lovely sketches.  One at the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge Site and one at Try Stamping on Tuesday.

For the Sketchbook Saturday sketch I created this card:

For the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge I created this card, I just switched the sketch around and went long with my card.

Both of these challenges helped me create some cards for a group of cards I was trying to make.  I tried to upload the actually sketch designs but for some reason tonight, blogger wouldn't let me!

Here is the completed set of cards!  I used the current Just Add Ink colours for all the cards too!!
