The Challenge #15

Welcome to The Challenge #15! Wow! The time is sure flying by! For the next two weeks, we have a bold and bright colour combo matched with a simple but classic sketch! Feel free to use either the sketch or the colours or both together! The choice is up to you!

Card Dimensions

Card Base: 4.25" x 5.5"

Black Trim: 4" x 2.25"

White Strip: 4" x 2"

Scallops: 1" x 4"

For my card I decided to just use the colours and created a CAS card! I found a used Lifestyles Craft embossing folder...I love how it creates a pretty frame for my card! I then die cut the leafy branch and stamped this new fun flower from Stampin' Up. Cannot remember the name of it but I purchased the punch too! I added a pearl. Very simple to make...I hope you like it!

The design team have created amazing cards! I love them all! This team has been fantastic to work with and I appreciate all of their hard work! Thanks ladies!

CAS(E) this Sketch #94 {Merriest Holiday Season}

This summer when we were in Washington, I went to a cute little stamp store and found this amazing snowflake die. It is made by Memory Box and I think it is a brand new one for this season....but I could be wrong! I have found snowflake dies at Simon Says Stamp...you can look at them by clicking HERE. The best thing about this die is that is cut through my paper without a shim or any added pressure...all the little bits came out easily...I was impressed! It was just like BUTTAH...

I put a piece of 4" x 4" vellum under the snowflake to add some "dimension" to my card...it gives it a softer look. I wanted to stamp the sentiment on vellum and draped it across the front but the snowflake it so intricate, it looked too busy. The sentiment is stamped on a piece of 1" x 4" paper...in Early Espresso Ink. This card too minutes to make...I have decided to mass produce them for Christmas. They are flat and I like the simplicity...I hope you do too!

Designing for Art Impressions!

Today I am happy to share that I will be joining the Art Impressions Design Team! Yippee!

I am really happy to be joining this team and designing for this awesome stamp company! If you do not know their stamps, you should check them out! They are hilarious and perfect for those "Over the Hill" birthday cards or for fun "Girlfriend" cards! I am so excited to be on the team designing with my bloggy pals too-Karen Day and Sherry Eckblad!

SugarPea Designs {Theme Challenge-Happy Fall Y'all}

I used the sweet new set called "Bountiful Blessings".  I inked her with Copics markers and then tried to create a softer suede look on her pants with some Prisma Pencils.

CAS(E) this Sketch #93 {Thank You}

Sometimes I just have to play with that Hardwood background stamp from Stampin' Up! It makes me happy! I love how it stamps and I love to use flowers with it! I went into my UFO box {unfinished objects} and found the flower and the green vine. That was all I needed for a base to my card!

Then I decided to use a doily on my card, instead of a small square. I think I should have put the card on a Espresso base but I went with more Smoky Slate. {I cannot have enough of that paper!} I used Hand Penned Sentiments (retired) but still one of my favourite sentiment sets from Stampin' Up!

Paper Sweeties September Release Rewind and a Farewell

Time for a new stamp release over at Paper Sweeties! This is my last design team project as a Paper Sweeties designer. I have enjoyed the past 9 months being on the team and designing for the lovely, Debbie. Debbie has been good friend to me and I appreciate her taking a chance on me to be a designer. It is time for me to move on and to try new things. I wish Debbie and the team continued success. I will miss you girls!

Paper Sweeties September Release Countdown!

Time for a new stamp release over at Paper Sweeties! Sometimes it is nice to dress up a bottle of wine for a special occasion! Using the new star die, I cut out a star from some glimmer paper and then heat embossed the sentiment in silver embossing powder and ink. I had some fancy shiny ribbon that I used for the top of my tag!

Merry Monday #124 & NBUS #2

I was happy to play along with the Merry Monday gals today! I have been neglectful of my Christmas cards but I have been so busy with life! Ack! It all piles up!

The challenge this week is "Transportation". I was intrigued by this theme when I made up the challenge graphic and I desperately wanted to play along!

I was tidying my craft space and found some cute stickers I bought at M's a LONG time ago! Can you stay "STASH"! So I was even more excited as I knew I could play along again with Darnell's NBUS #2 Challenge! Woohoo! Score! AND the card front is actually from a package of Project Life and I just cut down the card, stamped the sentiment and added the stickers. This card took minutes to make!

Paper Sweeties September Release Sneak Peeks!

Time for a new stamp release over at Paper Sweeties! I created a simple wedding card using the new heart die. I cut out a two hearts in white paper and one in black. Then I cut away one of the white hearts to make the front of a tuxedo shirt and added a "button" to the top...hopefully you can see the bride and groom...

SugarPea Designs Stamp Release Day 5 {Let's Fiesta!}

My goodness, you are in for a treat! This stamp set is hilarious and I LOVED inking up this fella! There is a donkey in the set and some other fun "extras" but the best part is the sentiments...I could not resist using this sentiment...hehehe...

I used some bright reds and yellows to make him look festive! I used the fun sketch over at Retro Sketches...it was perfect for what I had in mind...clean and simple! My card measures 4.25" squared...easy peasy to create. It is also nice and flat to mail to a friend. I think it would be a nice "cheer up" card for someone who needs a shoulder to lean on...
