Just a quick post today!! I wanted to try some of the fun challenges out there I always seem to miss! We have a big weekend ahead so it was nice to create a CAS for fun! This card was very easy to make. I am trying hard to create CAS but it is a challenge for sure. I love the look of a white card base but I do not know what paper is the best for that CAS white base look. Any suggestions?
Stamps: Hero Arts {Right at Home} and SU! {Up, Up and Away}
Papers: SU! Bold Pattern Paper, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point
Inks: Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point Marker for the hearts in the sentiment
Extras: Baker's Twine, Heart on the kite came from the Owl Punch
This card was created for the following challenges:
Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge-I flipped the sketch on its side
The Play Date Cafe-the colours (I tried to match them the closest I could)
CAS-ual Fridays-Paper Piecing-I paper pieced the kites
What fun! It is a trick for sure to combine all three of the elements into one sketch but you pulled it of beautifully!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet, Lesley! I love the little heart on the kite!! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute, Lesley! I have a kite card in progress on my desk right now. They are so fun aren't they?! :) Good luck on your CAS journey. White space totally stresses me out and I just can't do it. Love the look though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweetness ladies!
ReplyDeleteLove that blue striped paper and the paper pieced kites. Gina K. Designs makes a beautiful, heavy-weight white cardstock that words wonderfully for card bases.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great CAS card Lesley! Just as cute as can be. Love the little kites.

Super cute card Lesley! Love the fun blue stripes and the kite with the heart!
ReplyDeleteVery cute Lesley. I love your Hubby and Me photo ... darling. xo, Marian
ReplyDeleteI love the bright and happy feeling of this card! It makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteA CAS card is difficult sometimes, isn't it? You have to pare down your elements to just a few powerful ones, and that's such pressure. I use Papertrey's white cardstock, if that is what you mean in your question.
ReplyDeleteThese kites are SO cute! You did a great job with our colors, Lesley, and I am SO happy you came to play with us. It's really nice to see your creation in our gallery at The Play Date Cafe. :)
Sweet card! Love the colors and those kites are adorable :) Thanks for playing this week at CAS-ual Fridays!
ReplyDeletePerfect colors for your kites - a very bright and cheery card. Thank you for playing along with The Play Date Cafe and CAS-ual Fridays!
