Sunday is here and although this is usually a happy day because it is the new Paper Players Challenge for the week, this day also marks 10 years since 9/11. Lest we forget. Even though I was on the other side of the continent and a Canadian, I still mourned with the world over this devastating day...and I still do.
This week at the Paper Players, Nance has offered up a wonderful colour challenge that encouraged me to make two cards. One that was very clean and simple and one that was more elaborate. Both cards are for Christmas. I think this is a very pretty colour combo for Christmas.
The clean and simple card took no time to make at all! I love using the Snowflake Punch for an easy accent. I also inked up the Hand-Penned Sentiments set, which is my most favourite set right now! Love it SO much and I have been embossing the sentiments too! I also used the scallop trim border punch for a quick accent and voila, a CAS card was born. Hand-Stamped Sentiments is having a Clean and Simple Challenge this week, so this card qualifies!!!
Tonight I went out for dinner with good friends. I had a lovely time and when I got home, I was suddenly inspired to make another card. My friend Jane does that to me...she gets me laughing and being silly and I always feel so happy after a visit with her. Tonight we dragged our hubbies along with us and we all had a fun time, laughing and enjoying good food. It was grand! (As Jane would say!!)
Using the same colours I made a card with more detail. The sentiment is embossed with White Craft Ink and White Embossing Powder. I also inked up the bird and the leaves with my Stampin' Up Markers. Used some Crumb Cake as a neutral on the bird. The berries are all sparkling with the new Dazzling Details...I love this stuff! And I am so happy with how this card turned out. Thanks Jane!
