Thank you for all of your well wishes! At 1:45pm yesterday, I got the call! Thank goodness! Luckily, there were two jobs I could choose from and I happily chose grade 3 at a lovely little school. The school is the furthest school from my home and my commute will be a long one, but I am thrilled to be teaching grade 3 and I love the new classroom space.
The staff at my "old" school, stayed and helped me load my classroom stuff into vehicles. We took 4 vehicles, caravan style, and made our way North, to the new school.
As I met with the new Principal, my friends; Jane, Helen, Belinda, Jane's hubby Brian and my father in-law Glen, moved all my boxes into my new space and began papering the walls. I won't lie, the room I moved into had a LOT of mess STUFF in there...so much purging involved before my boxes could be unpacked. My hubby had to work late but showed up at 7pm with pizza and pop! Hooray!
I got back from my brief meeting with my new principal (who seems lovely by the way) and my room was already beginning to take shape. Wow, I thought to myself...I have some wonderful pals...
We arrived at the school at 3pm and left at 10pm last night. Yikes! I went right to bed last night, I was EXHAUSTED. I am going in today to continue the set up. Foolishly, I did not take the "before" photos of the room...but I will take photos when the room is complete. I have a lot of work to finish today including lesson planning for next week.
Grade 3! My favourite grade! The furthest school from my home (a 40 minute drive), a lovely little school...fantastic friends, change can be good...and overwhelming, and exciting, and sad, and wonderful...
Thank you for reading and for your support! Enjoy your weekend. You may not see any cards from me in the next little bit...but once my world has settled once again, I will be back with a vengeance...
Oh my word, bless your heart! What an unexpected unheaval in your life. Sending best wishes and thoughts that all will work out and that this will be a positive change in your life. ;-)
