So I think I have pulled a muscle...while crafting. Although not a sport, crafting still is a rigorous activity and without rest, one can obviously hurt themselves! Insert "Eye Roll"! The pull is in my shoulder/chest. It is so painful. Advil does thankfully dull the pain but it is difficult to sleep or do anything productive! Luckily, I have stamped ahead and got some cards done on the weekend and earlier this week. Whew. This is the last card I will create for a while. I am taking a break!
Today I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches, Paper Smooches, Simon Says Stamp (By the Sea) and the new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. It felt good...albeit painful, to play along just for fun! I have missed playing along with challenges! I used the stamps from Paper Smooches called "Wicked Nauticool". The red panel of my card is stamped with the chain and anchor images. I stamped them red on red to create a "nauticool" background. The bottom of the boat is paper pieced.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: "Wicked Nauticool"
Inks: Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black, C3, C1-Copics, Smoky Slate (waves)
Papers: Real Red, Brocade Blue, White, Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Extras: Red Baker's Twine, Circle Punches
Edited to add: Have added this to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge.
Gorgeous card Lesley - really fresh and crisp with a clever sentiment too.
ReplyDeleteI swear you CAN hurt muscles crafting, and you don't need to do anything rigorous. Just sitting in one position for prolonged periods can starve muscles of oxygen and result in what feels like a pulled muscle - and it's equally as painful too. How do I know that. sigh, yup - done it a couple of times!

Very nauticool indeed, Lesley! Taking a break from crafting sounds like a wise idea so you can give that shoulder/chest some rest.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually hoping to create some more cards in the next two weeks, since I'm taking a break from work...
Take care!
Marianne

ReplyDeletep.s. stay on an anti-inflammatory pain med, like advil or aleve for 48 hours straight, trying not to miss a dose. and use a heating pad/ice pack. the biggest thing is to relax the area, try to release the tension rather than let your body's natural idea of pulling it in to protect it, which increases stress in the affected area. Hope you're feeling better soon.
So crisp and clean and fresh Lesley! Go get some rest so that your back to creating very soon...hope you feel better!
