Freshly Made Sketches {Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year}

This week at Freshly Made Sketches, we have a great sketch from the lovely Rita Wright!  I was so excited to cut into some new pattern paper I picked up at my local crafting store!  It is from Jillibean Soup, I believe that is what it is called!  Both the red side of the paper and the yellow side come from the same sheet of paper.  I thought the paper had a primitive country feel to it and decided to make a poinsettia in Kraft paper from my Poinsettia nestabilities.
I also added a black matte around the entire main panel and the smaller panel to accent the red and yellow colours.  The sentiment comes from a stamp set that I got last year from Stampin' Up but is now retired called "Seasonal Sentiments". The ribbon is black satin and the twine is called True Hemp made by Hemptique.  It has a really pretty chocolate sheen to it. I couldn't resist adding a button too!

We hope that you will join Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

  5. Lesley, the black really makes the red and the yellow pop. The button was the perfect addition and I love that you echoed the background DSP with your poinsettia. What a gorgeous color combo and a fabulous use of the sketch. Love it, my friend

  6. Lesley - I love that color combination! While it is not what we would immediately think of as traditional, it is gorgeous when it is grounded by that gorgeous kraft poinsettia. Love this and that jillibean paper is to die for!
