Paper Players Challenge #50-Kind Thanks

Lobster!  Yum!  Last night I was fortunate to be invited to Lobster Fest and I had a great time! There was fresh lobster, yummy summer salads and a rockin' band!  Corey and I danced, I boogied with my father-in-law Glen and tore up the floor with one of Corey's workmates!  It was really a good night!!!  The dancing helped burn off those garlic butter calories!!!

Today I have a card I would like to share that I created for the Paper Players Challenge, hosted by the lovely LeAnne.  She is challenging us to make a thank you card or project.  I decided to go Vintage with my card and used the "Elements of Style" stamp set that is one of my favourite SU! sets!!!  We are also welcoming three new Guest Designers to our team: Cindy Beach, Lauri Ingram and Sandra Appozardi. Welcome ladies!!

I used my trusty crimper to make a waffle effect on my cardstock after I stamped the floral image in Stazon and coloured my flowers with a Bashful Blue and a Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker.  The ribbon is the Marina Mist Satin ribbon, which is being retired. I also used a Kiwi Kiss button to pick up the green leaves I coloured in the image.

My butterfly is from the "Strength and Hope" set. I stamped it in Night of Navy Ink on Bashful Blue cardstock then cut it out with my snips.  I used the sentiment from the "Bold Blossom" set and my new 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  The scallop edge punch was used to create the pretty edge on the Night of Navy Paper and I wheeled the Music Notes small wheel onto the Marina Mist card base.

We hope that you will join the Paper Players Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

  1. Lesley!! What a gorgeous card! I love your attention to detail and extra touches, like the crimping! Thanks and I am so looking forward to this summer!

  2. Whoo Hoo!! Sounds like a fun night! Bet your feet are tired from tearing it up on the dance floor! :) Love your card, Lesley! The effect with the Crimper is so cool and that tiny pop of Kiwi Kiss is the perfect touch. There is so much fun detail on this one. Just fantastic! Hugs!

  3. Lesley,
apart from the Lobster (me being a vegetarian and all that :-) it sounds as though you had a fabulous evening. It's amazing just how many calories you burn off tearing up the floor with a few moves.

I love this card. I love the color combo, I love the torn edge, I love the little button. Just gorgeous.

And... whilst we are on the subject of thank you..... I can't thank you enough for inviting me to be a member of this fabulous design team

  4. Absolutely beautiful, Lesley! I love the look of the crimping with the vintage style. Your colors and accents are so very pretty. The butterfly is a perfect addition!I feel so blessed to be working with you this month, thank you!

  5. Mmmm...lobster! Yum!! Sounds like my kind of night with the dancing too :)

I love Elements of Style and nearly chose that for my card too. Your watercolouring is amazing.

  6. Beautiful, Leslie! Your coloring is gorgeous! I love how you wheeled the music notes as your background! The crimping is the perfect touch!

  7. Such a gorgeous card Lesley! So many details--love the navy butterfly on bashful blue, I never would have thought to do that but it's gorgeous! Beautiful coloring of the flowers and love that kiwi kiss button! ((hugs))

  8. So pretty, Lesley! I think this is one of the prettiest cards you've ever made!

  9. Lesley - the crimping adds the wow factor to the background. I'm going to have to try that sometime soon! The colors are just divine (Kiwi Kiss is one of my favorites).

I'm jealous that you can go to Lobster Fests as I would need to travel at least 6 or 7 hours to go to a decent one. The best lobster I have ever had was when my hubby and I vacationed in PEI a few years ago. I may have to plan a trip to PEI again... LOL

  10. This card is absolutely GORGEOUS! I love all the different elements you used, your flowers are beautiful, and I LOVE that butterfly! ;D

Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate the time you took to leave me a little stamping love!!
Lesley :)
