The Challenge #57 {Inspiration Challenge}

Hello and Welcome to Week Three at The Challenge! The design team has just BLOWN me away with their gorgeous cards this week! We have an inspiration photo for you and we cannot wait to see what you create!

Are you looking for last week's winner? Please CLICK HERE.

Each week we have a fun challenge for your to try!!! We do a different style of challenge each week! We like to mix things up and keep them fresh!

Here is the monthly rotation:
Week 1-Sketch
Week 2-Colours
Week 3-Photo Inspiration
Week 4-Masculine Photo Inspiration
Week 5-Wild Card (a surprise!)

For my card, I decided to have some fun with a retired Stampin' Up Stamp Set. I want to push out of my comfort zone and try my hand at making some distressed or vintage cards but I always seem to prefer clean lines...no tattered edges here! I used some lace and a sticker sentiment from SRM StickersI stamped the images from Stampin' Up (a retired set) onto watercolour paper and then I coloured the images with distress inks...very loosely and with a sponge. Then I add some lace and the ribbon...the little flowers were stamped onto Copic white paper and coloured with Copic markers. Then I cut them out and popped them up. True to the inspiration, I had to add some pearls!

The design team have created some inspiration to get you in the crafting mood! Come and join us! Our weekly winner will be our next Guest Designer! So come and join the fun!

The Light Bulb Moment and a Card...and a personal note...

 The weekend is zooming by! Why? Slow down! I am a weekend crafter and so I cherish my Saturday and Sundays! I managed to get 6 cards made this weekend for various challenges. That felt good!

I had a light-bulb moment! I don't know about you but I am overwhelmed by all the stamps that are out there. There are so many I love and want to buy but I made myself re-organize my craft space and the stamps I already own...I used some clear covers from SugarPea Designs and I put all of my stamps away...I actually need another 100 pockets for my stamps...which just goes to show you how many stamps I actually have in my craft room!

Here are just some of my stamp sets...I love that I can see them all so easily and I actually put them away when I have finished using them! What a concept! Ha!

Since I have organized my stamps this way, my mojo has returned! I cannot believe how much I want to stamp! Funny! So today I got out a stamp set I purchased from Winne & Walter through Butterfly Reflections Ink and I got busy...watercolouring!

On a personal note...I have lost 55 lbs! I have been working hard at it...here I am in my craftroom! I am wearing my comfy clothes...thanks for stopping by!

Viva la Verve & Simon Says Stamp {You're on my Mind}

Hello crafty friends! The weekend is here and I am SO happy to get my craft on! Today I am sharing a card I made for a couple of challenges! I wanted to get out some watercolouring items and so I stamped the flowers in Ranger Watercolour Ink and "watercoloured" them with a water pen and distress inks.

The woodgrain background is from Stampin' Up and then I added some sequins. I absolutely loved the sketch and I HAD to play along. I have come to enjoy the Viva la Verve Sketches and I loved the Ombre Challenge at Simon Says Stamp. I coloured the flowers in the Ombre style...

Thank you for stopping by!

The Challenge #56 {A Colour Challenge}

Hello and Welcome to Week Two at The Challenge! Wow! Such a great week last week! Thank you to everyone who joined us and played along with the sketch! This week we have a colour combo for you and I really wanted something NON-Christmas! Ha! SO I went with a bright and happy colour combo to wake up my creativity! I hope it does the same for you!

Are you looking for last week's winner? Please CLICK HERE.

I am so happy because my pal, Laurel Seabrook is coming on board as a designer! I love Laurel's work and she lives an hour away from me! It is so great she agreed to join us!!! I asked Laurel to share a bit about herself!

Hi everyone, I am Laurel Seabrook and am so happy to be here on The Challenge Team.  I took a bit of a hiatus from crafting, only doing a few projects here and there and am looking forward to jumping back in!  I love to create anything with paper but tend to do mostly cards and I look at them as little pieces of art, so that the receiver can tuck them in somewhere on display should they choose.  My favourite cards to create are inspiration/just because ones so I am sure you will be seeing many of those!

Welcome, Laurel!!

For my card, I decided to keep things SIMPLE! That is my new card making motto this year! I used a new set from WPLUS9 called Watercolored Anemones Stamp Set and the Grateful Greetings Stamp Set. I used a sponge to apply the ink to the floral image and "huffed" it...

The design team have created some inspiration to get you in the crafting mood! Come and join us! Our weekly winner will be our next Guest Designer! So come and join the fun!
