Viva la Verve {Happy Birthday} & Seize the Birthday

Corey and I just got back from a quick weekend getaway! The weather was gorgeous and we had so much fun! While we were away, I kept looking at the fun sketch at Verve. I must admit, I struggled with it. But once I went with the doily for the circle shape, the card came together quickly. I am also linking this card to Seize the Birthday.

I used some new Lawn Fawn papers...so pretty! I used a coral/navy/kraft colour combo too. Using some distress inks, I inked all the sides of my card and layers. I think it softens a card.

I used Verve's Great Friend and Poppy Birthday for my stamps. I love the Poppy Birthday font and sentiments. SO pretty and clean!

MOJO Monday, The Paper Players, CASOLOGY &The Color Throwdown

Got my "CRAFT" on tonight! Yay! I made a quick and simple group of matching cards. Tomorrow is the start of my Spring Break and although I will miss my kiddos, I am tired and need a break! I will hopefully be crafting much more next week!

The first card I made is simple and for no challenges...it was a warm up card and for my stash!

I was inspired to play along with CASOLOGY and their "Blossom" Challenge. I inked up a fun new-to-me set from Verve called Poppy Birthday! I decided just to play with this new set and used the colours from The Color Throwdown. I just stamped the poppies up along the side of the card...and stamped the sentiment on the opposite side. I used Navy as my accent colour.

Then I decided to play along with Mojo Monday! Yay! I never get the chance to play during the week. I kept my design simple and clean. I stamped the bigger poppies and then popped them up on dimensionals. I kept the design simple. I used the The Color Throwdown colours again.

I am also linking this to the current Paper Players Challenge too. They are looking for CAS flowers.

The Challenge #27 {Just the Way You Are}

Welcome to The Challenge! Every other week we bring you a colour/sketch combo! You are welcome to combine the colours and sketch or just use one part of the challenge! It is totally up to you! The design team have created inspiring samples to get you into the crafting mood! Come and join us!

Sketch Dimensions
(this is only a suggestion)
Card Base: 4.25 x 5.5"
Gray Flag: 1.25 x 3.75" (any size will do)
White Flag: 1 x 3" (any size will do)
Butterfly: Any Shape

This week we have a simple sketch and a springy colour combo! I decided to ink up some new Verve called Brighter Days. I didn't want to colour the blooms, so I stamped them onto designer paper and fussy cut them. Then I stamped a leaf from an older Stampin' Up set and fussy cut it as well. I used the Plain Jane Stamp Set called Beautiful from Verve as well.

This month we are thrilled to have Narelle Farrugia as our Featured Designer and this week we are welcoming, Becca Cruger as our Guest! She won our challenge a couple of weeks ago!

SugarPea Designs & The Paper Players

Happy Monday! Todau I am thrilled to be sharing a card I made for the current SugarPea Designs Sketch Challenge! Wendy has a wonderful sketch and I took some liberties with it, so I could used this bigger image. I inked up the image and used my Copics to colour her. She is one of my favourite images from SugarPea Designs. She is from the set called Love You Bunches.

That little puppy is super cute too. I need to make a card just with him. I used some scrap papers from my pile and then kept my card clean and simple. Hopefully it is simple enough for the Paper Players "CAS" Flower Challenge.

Viva la Verve {Mother's Day Blessings}

Happy Sunday. I have enjoyed a restful weekend. Sitting and colouring, while sipping tea of course. I still have this silly cough and sinus problem but at least I got the chance to get crafty!

Today I am playing along with the Viva la Verve Sketch. It is the Week 2 sketch and I loved that it had a tag in it. I found this white tags at M's and couldn't wait to use one. I embossed it with my diagonal striped embossed folder from Stampin' Up and I used some pretty yellow polka dot paper for the background. That paper was the start of my design!

My sister just became a mom last weekend and so I am going to hide this in my stash for her for Mother's Day! I used the Verve set called On Occasion. I stamped the flowers in memento ink and then I coloured them with my Copics. Fussy cut them out and popped them up onto dimensionals. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you had a restful weekend too.

Verve {Birthday Challenge}, FUSION & The Color Throwdown

The Color Throwdown has some pretty colours this week! I couldn't resist playing! I decided to play along with the Verve Birthday Challenge and FUSION as well.

I used an older Stampin' Up set and stamped the flower and the leaves in Memento Tuxedo Ink. Then I coloured the images with my Copic Markers. Then I fussy cut the images, adding them to my gray card base. I inked up my Hero Arts French Script stamp and added a layer of washi vellum tape. It has a lovely silvery hue. I sponged all the sides with my Pumice distress ink. The sentiment is from Verve and is called Birthday to You-Plain.

It felt so good to clean my craft space today. I LOVE a fresh and clean desk!!!
