Multiplying Cards...

The Limited Supplies Challenge was to use black and white. So I did make some cards and then decided to recreate a card I made a while ago. I dusted off this stamp set and got to work!! I am really happy with the black, gray and white.

LSC213-Stormy Sky Silhouette

EDIT**
ALL black and white!!!

Today I had a wonderful day. My class and I had fun learning a new song for the Fine Arts Week happening in April. We are doing the song, "I Will Survive!" The children loved it and I must say, it was a lot of fun! The weather outside was glorious this morning and then by 2pm, it changed. It was blustery, cloudy, gray and miserable...but somehow it was still gorgeous. I wanted to capture the sky and the silouhette of the trees with this card. The "trees" are embossed with black embossing powder and a heat gun. The sky is brayered with Going Grey ink on glossy photo paper. Then I used a shiny black satin ribbon for the sentiment to go onto.

Hoppy Easter

Just got my new stamps from Pink Cat. I wanted to make some quick and easy Easter cards, so I used this week's MOJO sketch again. I really like it.
I used this Basic Grey DSP because it reminded me of an Easter Egg Design!
Mr. Bunny is popped up!!

Stamps: Easter Stamps by Pink Cat Studios
Paper: Porcelain (Basic Grey), Pink, Chocolate, White
Ribbon: Satin ribbon from Walmart, Pink Heart Brads (got them on sale after Valentine's Day)

SCS-Sketch Challenge 221, Flourishes Challenge (Emboss It!) FTTC8

This card was made for this week's SCS Sketch Challenge. I was stumped all week but then decided to dig out my Eastern Blooms Set. I rarely use this set and have barely used these three flowers. So I went for it!
This week, the Flourish blog had a challenge to "Emboss it"! I hardly EVER emboss!! This week I went for it!! The flowers are stamped in Real Red Craft ink and are embossed with clear EB powder. The word "Thanks" is embossed with White Craft ink and white EB powder. Got to try my new nesties for the sentiment at the bottom. Love these little tags. The square panel that is turn in a diamond shape, is embossed with Swiss Dots.
Thanks for looking!!

Enchanted "Earthy" Lily

I love the Pink Cat Stamps. I have the Kiki Kitty set on order. Hoping to get them tomorrow!!

I coloured Lily with SU! Markers and then carefully cut her out. Her headband was a challenge!! I used SU! DSP in Artichoke and Mustard. I think Mustard is my new favourite SU! colour!!! The paper directly behind Lily is from Basic Grey. It is called Porcelain. I cut that panel out with my new curved rectangular nesties.

No ribbon on this card. I tried to use it but it looked heavy. I popped up the sentiment which is by Amuse. I cut out the little toadstools too and added them next to her. Maybe I should have done a scalloped oval behind her? I used little gemstones and brads to highlight her.

Have a great Wednesday...I am off to sleep! But I could stamp all night!!

Serene Sunset Sympathy

This is a card for a family member who lost their mother. Inside the card it says "Thinking of You". I embossed the flowers and butterfly in Stampendous Midnight Black Opaque embossing powder, then I highlight the image with Shimmerz in Candle Light. I used Versa Color in Topaz to shade over the ivory paper and the stamped image to create a feeling of sunset. The ribbon is More Mustard but the paper is not SU! I used some stick on pearls on the card to lighten the feel of it. I cut the card shape out of Curved Rectangle Nestibilities to give the card a unique shape.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy stamping!

Lesley :)

Same Layout, New Colours

Trying to stretch myself, I have decided to try these new colours together. New for me!! I choose Bashful Blue, Only Orange and White. I am happy with how this card came out. The only thing I don't like is the Happy Birthday on the bottom right hand corner. The font doesn't work as well as I had hoped!

I actually was at a local crafting store last week and saw a Happy Birthday stamp that I immediately loved but of course, didn't buy it!! It was an Amuse Stamp. Just little and kinda pricey. So I withheld. Now I wish I had bought it. Of course! LOL!

Once again, I used the sketch challenge from PCP. It is so simple and I love the layout. Now I need to make some baby cards. I am going to try to use the layout on Cindy Haffner's blog. I have an idea for it!! Hope it turns out like I hope it will!

Bought some great ribbon today. A local SU! rep was selling some of her old stock and so I picked up a DSP pack of paper (the mini 6x6 pad), some ribbon and an old stamp set. I am going to use that stamp set for the baby card!! Oh! The ribbon will also be put to use!!!

Have a fun day! Can't wait to see all the wonderful creations out there!

SCS Colour Challenge #CC210

This week's Colour Challenge on SCS is Kraft, Black, Real Red and Summer Sun. When I saw those colours this morning I was perplexed!!! What card would I do with these colours? Tonight, as I was working in my craftroom, I thought of my new Enchanted Lily set from Pink Cat Studios. She could have Summer Sun hair right?

I combined the colour challenge with a Sketch Challenge on Paper Craft Planet.

Here's the sketch:

The best part of this colour challenge was being able to stamp on Kraft, rather than on white!! This was a bit scary for me!! LOL! But I took the plunge and went for it. I actually do not own the SU! Kraft, so I used a knock off variety I bought at a little store. I hope that it ok!! I hope you also notice that I added some more bling!!! These Making Memories "Sabrina" gemstones are great!! Hard to tell, but I put some "fairy dust" on her wings!!! In real life, she glitters and gleams.

Supplies:

Stamps: Pink Cat Studio
Ink: SU! Markers-Real Red, Summer Sun, Basic Black
Paper: SU! Real Red DSP, Real Red, Basic Black, Kraft (not SU!)
Ribbon: Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain, Black Gingham (using this lots today!!)
Accessories: Making Memories Sabrina gem stickers, Glitter, Cuttlebug, Oval Nesties

Thanks for stopping by!!! Please leave a comment! I am off to play in blogland!!

CAS Challenge on SCS and Ribbon Challenge on with Flourish!

Hi Everyone!
Looking at the recent CAS challenge on SCS, I was inspired to make little pink and white cards. I was tempted to use my cuttlebug and all the fun tools I have but I remembered that these cards were to be Clean and Simple!!!! Well simple they are! LOL!! I made three mini 4x4 cards and I am going to give them to my mommy for her stash of cards. There are no butterflies on them! I just didn't have a butterfly stamp that worked for me. Now I know what I need to buy!! And I need some Regal Rose Ink too!!! I had to use my marker.
I am going to call them my Wee Quote Cards!

This was my inspiration picture!! Aren't they darling!!!

Also, on the Flourishes Blog is the challenge to use ribbon and in a different way! So I used my black gingham ribbon and tried to add it different places from where I would usually place it? Does that make sense!!?

Having this week off for Spring Break is amazing. I have never made so many cards at one time before. Back to work next week and to all my shiny little faces. They are a dear group of Grade 2/3's and I miss them already!!

Inky Impressions Submission

Hi everyone!

This is for the Inky Impressions Designer Call. Yippee!!

I LOVE colouring, so I thought I would sumit these cards.

Thanks for looking!!! Keep your fingers crossed. Hopefully the luck of the Irish will win through!

MOJO Week #78

This card is all done in Real Red DSP and I used Black and White to frame it. I bought new black gemstones from Mike's the other day and finally had a chance to use them. I didn't think the were sticking properly and so I tried to remove one from the bottom left hand side of my card. I found out the hard way that they REALLY stick well. It ripped my DSP! I was pretty sad. But I used my markers to touch up the paper and it is hard to see (I hope).

Now that I have found this MOJO site, I am so excited to make cards. I love waiting for the new layouts.

Thank you for looking. What do you think?

Supplies:

Stamps: Happy Harmony (SU!)
Paper: Real Red DSP, Red, Black and White
Ribbon: Shiny Satin from Walmart
Accessories: Making Memories "Sabrina" gem-stickers (aka STICKS REAL GOOD GEMSTONES...haha!), SU! Corner Rounder Punch

CASing Glenda

My pal Glen is an amazing cardmaker. I love looking at her cards and she continually inspires me!! I am so in love with the work she does. She made a great set of cards with the Serene Sunflower set. She showed them to me last night and so I HAD to CASE her!!! Her cards had more punch as they were on More Mustard. I have no Mustard so I went with So Saffron and Always Artichoke. Glen used a sheer ribbon on hers but I again was lacking in these items so I went for something a little different. I did one card with ribbon and one without. She also did the paper piercing at the bottom of the card. I used the "For You" from Fresh Cuts.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog! Happy Stamping!!!

Splitcoast Stampers Colour Challenge #209

Late last night, Splitcoast Stampers posted their newest colour challenge. I thought about the challenge all night and realized I did not have a lot of Rose Red. So I decided to do a simple, clean card. I am pretty happy with how it came out but I also wish I had not used the cream colour in the centre of the card. What do you think?

Pink Cat Contest

Pink Cat Studios in Burnaby, BC is looking to name a new stamp set. The set will feature an adorable baby. My thoughts were to name him "Ollie" short for Oliver. What do you think?

New Blog

I was surfing the net and stumbled upon a wonderful stamp company called Pink Cat Designs. On their site was another wonderful site called Paper Craft Planet. I decided to sign up for this amazing Crafting Website. To do so, I needed a blog, thus I am writing this little introductory blurb!

Here is one card I created with the wonderful Pink Cat stamps. I think all their sets are adorable and the best part is that they are made locally! In Vancouver!

This layout was from the Splitcoast Stampers website. It was a challenge for me. I started with flower images and then found the scraps of DSP and that brought me to this little owl and the christmas card.
